The tubes are air vents are so the rear canopy won't rip of the body at high speeds.

Without them, the rear window canopy is like an umbrella in a windstorm.

Reply #21 - 08/30/07 at 12:45am Darren, the vents on the rear package tray were actually air conditioning vents on the Futura/#1 Batmobile. The 57 Premiere had identical air conditioning vents, and the plastic tubes took the air from the vents into the roof to direct the air throughout the vehicle better.
