This comic strip reminds me of the comics done for The Avengers in the 1960s and early '70s.  And Batman also had some comic books done as well.

Thank you for sharing this with us!

Hmmm...the TV Tornado writer seemed unaware that D.A. Scanlon was in fact privy to Britt Reid and Kato's secret identities (even though they meet in Britt's home at the Hornet's request), as well as the fact that everyone outside that secret regarded the Green Hornet as a dangerous master criminal, not a crimebuster.

What made the character unique was how he played that up and turned the tables on crooks who thought he was one of them. Kind of takes all the fun out of it if he's just Batman in another costume...

As a matter of fact, Batman did sometimes turn up in the pages of TV Tornado comic. Here is a text story from issue 2, dated January 21, 1967...

It makes you wonder why GH appeared as a strip in TV Tornado (and why Corgi brought out their Black Beauty) when, at the time, they'd only appeared as guest stars in a couple of episodes of Batman.  Perhaps they thought that as GH was similar to Batman, ITV would be showing the GH series.  Which it did - in only one or two regions.  People in regions like Tyne Tees would have wondered what was going on.

True enough. My local ITV station didn't pick up the show so I didn't get to see The Green Hornet until Bravo showed the series in the 90s (back in the days when Bravo was worth watching, sigh ... "Timewarp Television," how I miss it). But I remember seeing the corgi car, the annual and the comic strip in TV Tornado when I was a kid, so at least I had some idea who Green Hornet and Kato were when they appeared on Batman.
