As opposed to the Batgirl one piece, this one has top, bottom and trunks.

Wow, we could re-open the speculative thread about why superheroes wear their undies outside their tights, here....   Grin

I'd actually never considered that they might be all-of-a-piece with the rest of the tights.  An interesting idea.  Kind of makes me wonder why such a design element would be present, if they weren't a separate layer.  But that might also bleed into uncertainty about why the trunks are worn in the first place.  Possibly for the same reason that all the male nudes in my life drawing classes wore jockstraps (much to the frustration of the female persons in the class, who embarassed the instructor by challenging the policy...).   Grin   Embarrassed

Currently wearing:
1) Bat-Mite Underoos
2) Grumpy Pants
3) His Bat-anorak
4) Purple socks
5) Thinking Cap: second-hand & glitchy

On this suit you have two dissimilar fabrics that are cared for in different ways.

It has been done as one piece on the Chris Reeve Superman suit.
They are the same fabrics (leotard and trunks) just dyed different colors.
The trunks (with belt loops) are part of the leotard and worn over a separate pair of tights.
