This is definitely a far cry from the current "RIP" story line, all right!  And I see this publication did something about the Minstrel as well!

I gather the story was a ruse, in order to catch the bat bad citizens?

Maybe we should get the entire collection of stories and have them somewhere on this site.  They look like they might make a fine addition to this Web site!  Scott?  Lee?

Can I second that suggestion? Wink

Out of interest, how many Batman text stories did TV Tornado do?  I know that Batman was in the early issues, as was Superman, and that most if not all the stories reappeared in Super DC from late 1969 to 1970.  Also, in Super DC said stories took up two pages, so there must have been a bit of editing going on.

I've never heard of Super DC - was that another British publication?

Cool stories - that is some rare stuff you've been unearthing for us all, Roo!   Thank you!

Super DC was a monthly magazine in the UK that first appeared circa November 1969, possibly to cash in on the ITV showing of series 3 of Batman.  It featured reprints of Batman and Superman comics, and the strips it used were Batman, Superman, Jimmy Olsen, Lois Lane and Superboy, with occasional Supergirl stories as well.  Each issue was 40 pages in b&w apart from the front and back covers and the story artwork was reduced in size to squeeze, say, two or three pages onto one page.  There were also, as I said, text stories of Batman and Superman, but these seem to have been reprints of the TV Tornado stories.

Super DC only ran for about a year and just disappeared, presumably because the Batman series wasn't on ITV anymore.
