Star Wars Birthday
03/26/09 at 9:24pm

My son is turning 7 on 3/29 and his theme is Star Wars.  I did try for Batman, but with Clone Wars being the hot thing now, Star Wars it is, not that I really mind.  We always make a pinata for the kids depending on the theme, so this year is no different and I decided to really get creative.  Here is his R2-D2 pinata.  It's mostly done in this pic, just had to add candy, R2's projecter lense and rope to hang it.  It has pull strings so the kids don't get to beat the rebel plans out of it.  What do you think?

It looks very nice and I'm happy for kids learning about the exciting Star Wars universe.

'Wish they had Jar Jar Binks to beat-up or one of the bad guys like Boba Fett, INSTEAD of beating the hero R2D2...'had to kid you about that...(As bonus trivia do you know how R2D2 was named?)

Thanks for the kind words, the kids really enjoyed the party and the pinata.  Here is a picture of the cake my wife made.  Again, had to get a little bit more adventurous, she decided to make an AT-AT cake.

S.G., my son says thank you for the birthday wishes

You said it!  If this is the one your son is going to beat on, might as well be a good guy Smiley

Thanks again for the kind words, he had a blast.

B.C., the cake was a yellow cake with buttercream filling and covered in fondant (she watches a lot of FoodNetwork).  The legs & base were just acrylic plastic that I cut, glued and painted.
