generic super hero series from maybe the 80's
08/08/09 at 11:22pm

Okay, somehow or other the vaguest recollection of what I think was a short-lived TV series but was maybe a movie that aired on cable or maybe even something else popped into my head this evening.  I think it must have been from the late 80's (or, not) and it had a title like Action Man or something similarly generic/derivative and I recall a dark haired guy with generic red super hero type costume...tight body suit and maybe a cape...maybe a short one.

Live action.

Anyone?

He didn't have dark hair but did have a red suit and short cape:

The Greatest American Hero 1981 - 1983

It was a cult comedy that I could not get myself into,
although it was popular for a while.

Not NightMan, the late '90s series that starred a Dodge Prowler...oh yeah, and some guy with long blonde hair.

Not on that list but I appreciate your posting it.  Otherwise very interesting.

I'm more convinced that it was a short-lived series and that the name was Action Man and am now thinking it was more late 90's.

But I still can't pinpoint it any better than that.

I keep zoning in a little bit at at a time.

I'm now recalling--I think--that it was a Sunday morning show.

Maybe British?  Not sure why I have that in my head.

Nope (but, again, thanks), it pretty much definitely fit my descriptions above.  I think I got just about everything right, including the name.

I just can't get a real mental picture of it.

You're welcome... And thank you for letting me reference pictures of Iris for a reason:)

Are you sure you didn't mean Vicky and some woman at SDCC dressed as Wonder Woman and Black Canary... I am reposting this image just to make sure....... Undecided

You're not thinking of Thermoman are you? He was in a comedy series over here called My Hero starring Ardal O'Hanlon as a superhero. It was a lot more recent than the 80s though so maybe not.
