If this is the Leslie Thomas you refer to, yes, he is still alive.  Funny, though, he is not listed as having worked with the 1966 series, though he is listed as the only art director among the different entries for "Leslie Thomas."

The Leslie Thomas that worked on the Batman Show died in1983. The person on IMDB is a compilation of more than one person. The early movies were A. Leslie Thomas the man who worked on the Batman show. Les Thomas was my grandfather the one from the Batman show. He started on movies in the 30’s and worked until the early 70’s. I found this site looking for a book that he wrote in 1940. The Story On The Willow Plate.  It is nice to see people appreciate his work. Thanks, He would be proud to know you enjoyed his work.
