1/6 Scale Burt Ward Robin Figure

This thread might straddle the "Crafts/Merchandise" fence so if I'm in the wrong place, my apologies.

Just wanted to share a pic of my new Robin figure I did with a LOT of help from the folks at Inner Circle Toys. They did an outstanding job on the head sculpt and costume.  I'd considered making it all myself, but there was just too much tailoring involved for the time I had to work on it.

I made the gauntlets, repainted the head and shortened the figure considerably.  I did the stand too. The Batman is one I made myself a while back.  I know I've posted it here before, but I just wanted to let everyone know he's not fighting crime solo anymore!

I was blown away by your Batman figure in another thread. Robin looks fantastic. The level of detail in both figures is amazing. you should be very proud. Now all you need to do is set up your own toy company and bring them to us less talented on the board. Smiley

You missed my birthday earlier in the month, WEFINKS.  You can drop those figures off to me sometime soon as my gift.

Thanks so much.  I've been making my own figures for years.   I have them on the shelves in my studio and no one really sees 'em, so it's really nice to hear a positive response.

The Robin figure is the first I've done in tandem with someone else (Inner Circle Toys) and I'm pretty happy with the results!   They gave me an amazing head start on this one!  They did the lion's share of the work on Robin and I really have to give them credit.

Where can we get a head like that. I have a Kid Action figure just waiting for a head transplant! PM me privately with details - or we'll get moved to merchandise.

Beautiful Craftsmanship! Can you post some close-ups of the head, and hands, and costume details.

Here's a shot of Robin alone.  If you want to see better close-ups of the head, it's shown in a 360 on the Inner Circle Toys site.  My humble pics really don't do it justice!

I wouldn't say this head would fit an Action Boy.  He'd be too short proportionally.  Adam West is listed as 6'2" and Burt Ward is said to be 5'8".  That's a 6 inch difference.  Ergo, in 1/6 scale a difference of 1 inch.  That's what I went by, at least.

ICT started with a Barrack Sergeant figure which is a little shorter than the Dragon I used for Batman.  After receiving it, I took some height out of the lower calves, and some out of the lower torso as well. Yes, it involved sawing him to pieces, but I wanted to get the height difference as close as possible.  I've seen too many Batmans and Robins that looked the same height!

Oh yeah, I sawed off his arms too, and replaced them with Dragon arms,  The inner elbow was a little less obvious.  Of course, I had to paint the arms and head to match!  Believe me, most people would have been MORE than happy with what ICT did (and I WAS), but I'm a little crazy with these things...

Damn, I registered at Imageshack so I could see the pictures, but they're vertically squeezed. Anyway, I could still see you did an awesome job.

I did the Batman which was pretty simple, really.

All you can actually see of my work on the Robin is the gloves, the head paint and the stand.  Most of what I did on him was body work, adjusting the height, and such. I did replace the arms. The rest of the costume on Robin was from Inner Circle Toys.  They do really, really nice work.

Thanks to all!  I know I'm always interested to see what people are doing with custom figures.

I also have a new Green Hornet figure that Inner Circle Toys did with some alterations and additions by me.  I'll post it soon in the Green Hornet section.
