To me either, wrong belt buckle and wrong batemblem. The cowl  looks to be the one from the Batgirl pilot, as is the pic in the auction. But I didn't think the buckle and emblem were different as well in the pilot

Nice story.  False claims to the items shown.

This is as bad as the Batman cowl they are now trying to backpedal on.

Interesting that almost all of the photos are of the costume, not the mask. form the photos of mask provided, you really can't tell much of anything.

Are these guys for real? I just reviewed the auction for the cowl and had a good chuckle. Especially the part that says Adam saw the cowl in person and declared it an original, although it didn't fit him. Come on people!

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't this fraud?

This scan is off the cover page from a book titled "SUPERHERO Collectibles A PICTORIAL PRICE GUIDE" by Bill Bruegman  (1996  published by Toy Scouts Inc)
There are no other photos or info about this  Batgirl costume but  it appears to be the same as in the auction posted.

Somebody is buying into it, auction is up to $2100.  We (paging Mr. Williams- Mr. Williams to the red courtesy phone, please) sure that cowl isn't the real deal?

As to the Hornet auction, love the part that says "an autographed publicity still and a framed photo of Green Lantern, Kato and Miss Case, signed by both Mr. Wililams and Wende Wagner."

Van in a Green Lantern suit, that's gotta be a rarity...

Pictures speak a thousand words and none of these speak in favor of the cowl up for auction:

The "pilot" Batgirl cowl had a strap that went under the chin unlike the series one that went behind the neck and under the hair.
Note the cowl does not have a skirt that goes from the cowl shell and down the neck.  BTW, Batgirl's cowl shell was a soft sculpt much like a hat and not a hard fiberglass shell like Batman's.

Item up for auction:
