Re: EXCLUSIVE FIRST LOOK: Jamal Igle’s ARCHIE/BATMAN ’66 #5 Cover

I'd prefer it if Reggie were his Evilheart alter ego. I'm wondering if none of them will transform to the their superhero/supervillain identities in this whole arc, and that would be a missed opportunity.

Meh, the demons remind me too much of the Archie zombie nonsense. Pass.

I never heard of swede as another name for a rutabaga.
Nor had I. Evidently it's mostly a British term for it. I guess Joan Collins doesn't eat rutabagas or else I would have known that. :D

Re: Secondary Villains

I'm sorry, I didn't know it was another word for rutabaga. My bad.

But no, they were referring to his nationality, not him being a root vegetable.

I don't understand the vegetable connection. And it's Swede, not Suede. He didn't wear blue suede shoes! :D

Also, would love to have seen Pete the Suede. A vegetable orientated bookie?
Pete the Swede was a parody of Jimmy the Greek.

Re: Eartha's Catwoman really fights

I like how Eartha really struggles to escape Chief O'Hara in the "The Joke's on Catwoman" episode. We never saw Julie or Lee do anything like that. Just a nice example of how Eartha seemed to take the character in a different direction than the other two women. I personally always have rated her No...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #92: BATMANIA pt 2: Is nothing impossible?

Yet another well-constructed podcast. Paul did a nice job of drilling his points home to the listener. Seriously, nice job on the mixing, Tim, I'm sure you minimized the noise damage as much as you could. Some thoughts: --Trivia: Biljo actually did a SurfSide 6 fanzine before Batmania. What were the...

Those Bat-vehicles are too campy, not dark and gritty enough.

Dan--Thanks for the sneak peek. I like the way Parent is drawing Siren, it's probably the closest in terms of costume to the way Joan Collins looked on the actual show. Although the sandals should be open-toed!! 8-)

Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #91: BATMANIA pt 1: Comics Fans Connect

FWIW, I just noticed that Dozier corresponded with none other than Biljo White on Nov. 16 and 22, 1965, per the listing of his personal papers. I don't know what he said in those missives, but it's interesting that there was communication. It had to be about the series, I would think.

Re: Script: THE CAT'S TALE, by Stephen Kandel

--Like O'Shea before him, Kandel seems to think cats can be trained to do all sorts of things. In what parts? Kandel has Slasher bringing the cat to the prison at the beginning, rather than the cat arriving on its own, so the problems are lessened there. And the deathtrap is utterly different and d...

I actually liked 'Vild!' but agree with the others.

Re: "Myths" Surrounding The Show

More than 50 years later, the mystery of why the Mets can't hit has yet to be solved, despite the intervention of the Bat-computer. :( Although signing veteran players more washed up than Cabala might be part of the problem, but I digress. To be fair, I always thought the teaser scene of the series ...
