Re: Julie’s *only* 2024 Convention Appearance

So glad my late wife and I got to see her a few years back when she was up here at the Ottawa ComicCon. I got her to autograph an artwork of her as Catwoman surrounded by cats that I had just bought earlier in the Con's Artist Alley. I was mesmerized by her. Even in her later age she still had (has)...

Re: SSR Silver Knight 1/6 starting to ship

First, are the two pictures of the same figure? There seem to be differences between the two, the mouths and utility belts, for example. Second, seeing this (and ads from places like Monsters In Motion), I just don't understand how figures and statues are supposedly still selling when they're on ave...

Re: The Latest Batman Item You've Acquired?

Been on a lucky streak with finding old comics. https://d3nvbf5pqk2vjh.cloudfront.net/cgccomics/monthly_2024_05/WORLDSFINEST002.thumb.jpg.9d4eaaffd12e4f401987a9160ac0b0a0.jpg I love Golden Age Comics and you can still find bargains in the wild. I have an affection for early Bronze Age stuff because...

I remember how cool I thought this 'Sons of...' concept was and tried to buy and follow every issue when they came out.

WOW! Lou, I had completely forgotten that Hot Wheels had those little pin badges of various cars. I now recall I had tons of those. Thanks for that memory jog.

Re: McFarlane doing a 12 inch Adam West statue but the details are wrong

The face seems a little off as the cheekbones seem heavier. Sort of looks more like Adam's Batman from NBC's 1979 Legends of the Superheroes than old TV series. The bat in the chest logo is too big and should be reduced to maybe half in size and the oval itself needs to be reduced in size slightly a...

Re: Nagging Joker Question

Funny how Joker mentions confetti but throws streamers instead. Yes, Therin, I had caught that too, but I can let it slide simply to the constricting actions and multi-colors of the streamers as well as the sound effect of the harp. It makes Joker and his abilities seem magical and 'otherworldly'. ...

Re: Nagging Joker Question

Well gang, I guess we have it figured out. It seems to be "Songs are for parties, my caped copper." as Jimmy L 66 posited. It fits perfectly as a retort to Batman's "You'll be singing a different tune, my crooked clown." Zoinks! Mystery solved and we didn't even have Scoob or the...

Re: The Latest Batman Item You've Acquired?

I'll always have a soft spot for the Mego Batman figure-- the removable cowl one is my favorite, but I love this one too. I agree, Andy. For me, the 1972 MEGO Batman with removable cowl that I got from the K-Mart in Farmington Hills, Michigan will always be the best, and a top moment in my childhoo...
