Is the song you were referring to "Let's Go" by the Routers?

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #145: “Batman: The Movie”: What is “the director’s input”?

If the movie was truly going to introduce Batman to a 1966 audience I would think the start of the film had to be rewritten at some point. When you see how Bruce and Dick / Batman and Robin are introduced, it almost assumes we are already familiar with the Shakespeare head, Batpoles etc. The introdu...

Re: Will Green Hornet ever come to DVD?

True. The Silent Gun is missing the epilog and the two parters are all missing the next week promos at the end of pt 1 and the recaps at the beginning of part 2. There are also some fun little 30 second promos at the end of the first 4 or so eps. I had a complete set from 16mm and recorded the serie...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #114: Putting "Clean Sweep" under the microscope

Unless I missed it, what makes this episode unique among other season three episodes is that it features the only appearance of the Wayne Manor living room in the opening scene. Granted it is a very tight shot and for a living room that is so big, the actors are jammed into one corner. It makes me w...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #92: BATMANIA pt 2: Is nothing impossible?

I have that comic book hanging in my living room. It is pretty cool. On the other side of my TV is a Batman comic with the Beatles on the cover. I love when those universes cross over.

Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #92: BATMANIA pt 2: Is nothing impossible?

Loved the episode. There actually was sound Super 8mm film back in the day. Called 'magnetic sound' there was a soundtrack on the actual film. I personally didn't have a sound projector but as a treat, my Dad would rent the one the library had so I could watch the sound films they had for rent. That...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #90: Surf's Up, Joker's Under, and Al's On

I shot a video that I posted on the Batman facebook page some time ago but I'm not sure how to extract that and post it here. If anyone can offer assistance on that, I'll be happy to upload it. I've tried .mov, mp4, and 3gp but cannot upload files with those extensions. The music is different from t...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #87: An Eggsasperating Eggsercise

This, like the majority of season three episodes, feels like the later seasons of the 1950's Superman. Borderline entertaining but mostly just goofy and boring.

Way too rich for my blood right now. Hopefully they will offer Kato as a single. Not sure what the gimmick - hook is with splitting them apart but I'll just have to be patient.

Re: A star for Burt Ward!

They've given starts to far less recognizable people than Burt. I don't know if it's so much a recognition thing for someone's career as it is a PR thing - much like the R&R Hall of Fame. Why the hell not! Does anybody know who else associated with the series has a start (Frank, Cesar, Burgess e...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #88: Holy hyperbole! It's Burt Ward's book!

Honestly, does it matter if Carson had 40,000 guests or 400? What we do know is that the general public who followed him did not care, and enjoyed his show until the end. That's what he was there to do. His own account of guest numbers or anything else does not alter that fact. Unless it is present...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #88: Holy hyperbole! It's Burt Ward's book!

I think the picture is from "He Meets His Match the Grisly Ghoul". I got the book when it first came out and aside from the first reading, I've never revisited it. IMO, I didn't buy most of it. Such as (and correct me if I'm wrong or please leave this part out), the claim that he did 7,000...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #85: "Batman '89" Turns our Heads

I wish they would take the movies in a different direction. I'm a Batman guy yet I do go to just about every Marvel film that is released. Even if I don't like the content, most of the time I am very entertained and that is what I think has been missing from the last few Batman movies. Dark Knight.....

Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #85: "Batman '89" Turns our Heads

I grew up with Adam West being my Batman. I went with a bunch of my friends in 1989 to see the Keaton film and I thought it was boring to be honest. Now, I can't speak for my then 19 year old self in saying that at the time I was going to approach it with an open mind and give it a chance. I just we...

Re: Did anybody notice...???

As noted before, Batman had four different cameo appearances by the stars of new ABC shows that Fall: *Phyllis Diller as a cleaning woman in the first Minstrel episode. *Milton Berle as a prisoner in the second Ma Parker episode. *The GH window batclimb. *Howard Duff in a window batclimb (episode?)...
