Re: Keaton Back As Batman?

I like Keaton and I'm okay with his Batman, but I'm out.

Re: Batman Meets Dr Death

This is great! I'm such a fan of the oddball-yet-scary Dr Death. This was an interesting period for Batman, teetering between what he could have been and what he became. One foot in the pulps and the other in the Sunday funnies. From what I've seen of your work, that's a vibe you're into, yourself, ...

Re: 1960s Animated Batman videogame for Mac computers?

I have it, but mine runs on Windows (or did, back in the day). It isn't a game, really. More like a comic book for your screen, where the "panels" on some pages are videos clips from the old Filmation cartoons that play when you click on them. It's fun in a low key kind of way. I'm trying to remembe...

Re: New Batman Movie

They'll never give up on Batman movies as long as they keep making money, and so far Batman is the only character DC/Warner can successfully market with any consistency at all. Expect a new Bat-film every couple of years from now til doomsday (assuming that's more than a couple years off). I suspect...

Re: Casting Suggestions for '66 villians

I see Robert Wagner now that he's been pointed out. It's hard to do a drawing of a "generically handsome" guy like RJ (or Shatner) and even harder when you only get half a face to work with. Maybe Two Face would've got by the vendors if they'd taken the approach of Star Trek's "Conscience of the Kin...

Re: Casting Suggestions for '66 villians

Is that Shatner??? I couldn't figure out who it was. I started at Dick Van Dyke and ended up at Ricardo Montalban, so at least I was getting warmer. LOL I don't think Two-Face could've made it past the censors in 1966 no matter who they cast. That said, these are fun to see. Maybe it'd go down bette...

Re: Slabbing In 2020

You laugh, but this image has given me an idea to finally put my post-1993 comics to good use. Who knew they'd actually serve a purpose some day?

Re: Bob Iger steps down as Disney CEO and my thoughts on BatDrac

I'm just a TV series fan as I said. Never read the comic books much. So to me, Batman was scifi. I understand the horror aspect of the comic book Batman, but as only being a TV series fan, you can see how confused that made me. Oh well, just a character, not the end of the world. Interesting. The c...

Re: Disney/Marvel to buy DC

It is true that comic sales are low, but then so is all printed media. It is the age in which we live. The fact that comics are sold in boutique like venues (Walmart DC books notwithstanding) does not help their distribution. It is an aging business model, but I like to believe that like Batman and...

Re: Bob Iger steps down as Disney CEO and my thoughts on BatDrac

I came to comics in the very early 70s when I was first learning to read. At that point, the Adam West series was "in the tank" and a matter of record, Neal Adams was defining the character in comics and the "100 Page Super-Spectaculars" were reprinting tales from *every* era. I feel I was blessed w...

Re: Disney/Marvel to buy DC

If all it gets them is the publishing rights, then they'd be crazy to spend the money. Unless Disney's dream is to own literally everything, I don't see any real benefit to acquiring the comics. There's more to DC's decreased sales than the current owners' incompetence: monthly "floppies" are basica...

Re: Disney/Marvel to buy DC

If so it would be ironic, given that about 25-30 years ago the shoe was on the other foot, with DC considering swallowing up a failing Marvel. Part of me wouldn't mind a shot at decent films for the DC pantheon, or the story potential of mixing all those characters. But a bigger part of me is dismay...

Re: One Down...

I've seen a lot of hate for Didio and while I haven't enjoyed...well, anything from DC during his 18 years, I wonder how much is his fault and how much is down to the corporate "suits" pouring on the pressure for DC to turn around big profits. Leaving aside the question of whether comic books will e...

Re: Toy Fair 2020 66 Batman pics

Whatever's around Robin's logo looks rough. I think maybe someone's stuck it on temporarily with whatever that stuff it is they've put on the figures' feet to keep them standing through the show.I He also seems to have some paint loss on the left glove. I think this could just be some kind of protot...

...capturing the early appearances of the crime fighting heroes and a variety of arch villains... Early appearances! I love it! "But Bat-baby, why are you fighting crime?" " In a few years, a dastardly criminal will kill my parents! " "What? But if you know that now, why don't you...oh, forget it."
