SCRIPTS: Peter Rabe's "Two-Face" and Semple's "The Joker's Last Laugh"
https://deconstructingcomics.com/Batpoles/jokerslastlaugh.jpg Although I made scripts available in our show notes over a week ago, I just realized that I never set up a thread to discuss them! These two scripts are going to be discussed in SEPARATE EPISODES -- for reasons I refer to (in next week's...

It was ...

Re: Any info on SRR's Batman/Catwoman marriage episode?
Since Ross said it was Eartha Kitt Catwoman, we speculated that it must have been in her teamup with Joker. But, as we discussed in TO THE BATPOLES #106, the early drafts of the script contain no such scene. Clearly, no such scene was ever filmed or broadcast, so we have no idea what Ross was talkin...

Thanks! OK, so general knowledge of this clearly predates the Batbook!

When did we know "Desmond Doomsday" was the narrator's name?
A TO THE BATPOLES listener emailed us, asking when and how it was revealed that Dozier's narrator "character" was called Desmond Doomsday. How do fans know this? Haven't seen it in any of the original scripts. In the current, Author House-published edition of Eisner's Batbook, it is mentio...

The Bat-ram
I'm an admin of one of the many Batman '66 Facebook pages. A member sent a DM (but wrote it as if it were a public post!) asking which episodes the bat-ram was used in. I want to post his question publicly on the FB page, but I want to include a still of the ram, but I can't remember which episodes ...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #154 Bat-Based Cartoons: "Batfink" and Waldo Kitty's "Catman"
We almost included the "Fairly Oddparents" Catman in this episode, but with 100 Batfinks to watch, we decided that was biting off too much for one episode. Batwinged Hornet is the second person to respond to this episode by mentioning Kane's CC&MM. Had not thought of that, but again, i...

TO THE BATPOLES #154 Bat-Based Cartoons: "Batfink" and Waldo Kitty's "Catman"
https://deconstructingcomics.com/Batpoles/Batfink-Catman.jpg 1966 Batmania didn’t just put a lot of Batman toys on the shelves; it inspired twists and parodies on the show itself. One of these was Hal Seeger’s “Batfink”, which was not exactly a parody but appropriated a fair number of elements of t...
