Re: Was Yvonne the First Female Superhero on Film?
The Wild World of Batwoman was made in 1966. Dozier made a goofy Wonder Woman pilot in 1967. Don't know if either of those would count. Batwoman in the first is not a typical superhero type. Wonder Woman wasn't shown to the public and wasn't a serious take on the genre.

Re: Barbara Gordon's apartment in 3D... revised
To construct the bedroom furniture and other props, I largely used Wings3D, a freeware 3D modeler available at http://www.wings3d.com . For the walkthrough floorplan, I used Sweet Home 3D, available at http://www.sweethome3d.com . The Sweet Home compatible floor plan is available for download at the...

Re: Enter Batgirl
I'd like to note just as a point of information that the first time the name of Mobley came up in this thread was when out of the blue I saw the term "cue the Mary Ann Mobley crowd". I have not spent any time in this thread talking about the case for Mobley because this thread is not abou...

Re: Enter Batgirl
Maybe that's because for a long time, there could sometimes be a sense of intimidation that if one broached the subject about alternate casting ideas or dealing with the problems that existed at the time and how they could have been addressed, one might have found oneself subject to a flame-fest. I...

Re: Enter Batgirl
This, then, is "Take 2" for a response. They were cutting corners on season three, and it's interesting to know that they integrated bits of the Green Hornet set into Batman. One of my Batman '66 fixed ideas has been that they didn't seem to be trying as hard with the third season, a trend...

Re: Enter Batgirl
As to the discussion, I'm always for "different angles" in a conversation, and I like to think on realistic casting choices, there's been a good deal of diversity. Ah, and here's where something interesting has happened. I was referring to the topic of Batgirl. My paragraph structure is m...

Re: Enter Batgirl
That is interesting. Thank you. I am intrigued by the points about Barbara's apartment. Do you have a link to details about such matters? I would love to know more. Perhaps it's because there are a few voices which always jump in with the same bullet points, in the Batgirl discussions I've read on t...

Re: Enter Batgirl
I get a strong sense from the Batgirl threads I've read on this board in recent years that many posters would like a time machine or something, some ability to go back and transform what the show was becoming so many years (so many decades) ago, while it was still mutable. That's interesting, up to ...

Re: Enter Batgirl
I doubt that Marshall McLuhan was in the writers' room with Hoffman, Ross and Stanford Sherman, although it's fun to contemplate. What you present as cool/hot medium is really just a case of writers on deadline who needed to repurpose the old Green Hornet sets as a budget-saver and never bothered t...

Re: Enter Batgirl
I'd add that Warner's current handling or better yet, non-handling of Batgirl as a character in its promotion for the series proves that they don't think the audience identifies with her. I don't know that we can accept this as proof of anything. We know they aren't promoting the release using Batg...

Re: Enter Batgirl
The silences can be part of the music, too, perhaps. :? Those gaps in the information we're given are areas we can fill in with imagination. For myself, I like the ambiguities in the character. The basic outlines are presented to us, but not the details or specifics. A simple cartoon-like drawing in...

Re: Enter Batgirl
A Bat-girl character had been introduced in 1961. Bette Kane. It makes sense to me to have the revitalised character related to Commissioner Gordon. Right, but that is so thoroughly a different character that there's no real point in even discussing the possibility of adding the character to the sh...

Re: Enter Batgirl
Batgirl really couldn't have been brought in much sooner than she was, because the character hadn't been created yet. Created during the run of the show, she was integrated into the program not long after her initial comics appearance. There were actually conflicted accounts given by some of the par...

Re: Batman TV series DVD set in 2014!!
Alright, I'm thoroughly confused. These are uncut episodes, aren't they? I assume they are as this is what we are told, but has anyone actually seen a full episode from this set yet. Has anyone seen any scene's or pieces of dialogue that aren't already on these bootleg copies. My thinking is if WB ...
