Re: Batman Stuff You'd Hate To Part With...

Just FYI, there's a guy on Etsy (CreativePal) that sells reproduction boxes of the Ideal Batman helmet and cape. I bought one for a helmet I picked up on Ebay, and it looks really nice.

Re: Phone Holder/Pouch for Utility Belt?

My solution was to hook a horizontal phone holster onto the back part of my belt, which was covered by the cape. You don't see it, but I could still get to my phone, debit card, etc. You can spray it yellow if you want it to match, but depends if it is vinyl, nylon, or some other material.

Re: Where to get a green Chesterfield coat

I took the thrift shop and ebay route too, but was not able to find anything I could use. The GH coat is more like a suit coat, so you'd probably need to go to somewhere that sells suit fabric if you plan to make your own. You won't find that type of material at a Joann's. Still, if you're doing an ...

Re: First post - could use utility belt advice

The fact that you had fun is all that really matters. I think the material that you used for the cape, gloves, and trunks looks about right. Nice job on the gloves; I don't sew at all, so I would never attempt it.

Looking forward to version 2!

Re: First post - could use utility belt advice

Maybe you could create a holder from nylon webbing like this example. It can loop over the belt if you want to remove it, and you can remove the can if you need to freshen up (or fight off sharks).

Re: ACE Comic Con Chicago

I think people decide to cosplay a character when a movie trailer and marketing materials start to appear (same with video game characters). It takes a lot of time to create a costume, so not surprising that they show up to coincide with the movie release. I've seen Samurai Jokers and other very cre...

Re: Green Hornet at LA Comic Con

Thanks! My daughter dressed as Kato part of the day. We even found Waldo (or rather he found us).

Maybe I'll do GH at WonderCon next Spring. Ran into Wally there once before.

Re: ACE Comic Con Chicago

That's awesome. Sounds like you had a great spot. I was at LA Comic Con Sunday and saw some Riddlers, including a boy about 8 years old, but no 66 Batman. Quite a few of the Joaquin Phoenix Joker though.

Re: Green Hornet at LA Comic Con

Starting to get some pictures from the pro photographers that were shooting the cosplayers. Here's a couple that gives a better sense of the costume colors. The first one is with John Constantine.

Re: Green Hornet at LA Comic Con

Right, that's probably what most people think of. Notice though how those masks are shaped differently from each other and in the second photo GH is wearing dark grey, with no gloves, so even the real thing isn't consistent.

Re: Green Hornet at LA Comic Con

There were different masks used on the series and depending on the lighting the colors look different, so not sure there is one "Hornet Green". I opted for a slightly blue green to coordinate with the outfit, but probably would have preferred more of an emerald green. Here's a reference photo with t...
