Re: Where to get a green Chesterfield coat

I am happy to report that I found someone to make me a suitable Green Hornet coat and matching vest. It's not "screen accurate", but has the basic look and isn't made of heavy wool. The cost with some additional tailoring was about half what CY Productions charges.

Re: green hornet mask

The biggest problem is matching the colors. There seems to be an infinite variety of green; hunter green, forest green, olive green, etc., but few that combine the right style with the right shade. I learned that there is something called a "stingy brim" fedora which might be what Van wore, but I'm ...

Re: green hornet mask

Here's another photo, this time with the CY Productions hat and mask. Mask is made of urethane. hat was purchased through CY Productions but was made by Law Dog Hat Company in Billings, Montana. (I suggest you order direct from the hat maker if you want one). Brim is a little wide in my opinion but ...

Re: green hornet mask

Here's another photo with a different hat and a black coat. It's a Saks Fifth Avenue I purchased on eBay. Note the velvet collar. It's the correct style, but weighs a ton. Doesn't necessarily scream "Green Hornet", but I like the hat even though it's not the right shade of green.

Re: green hornet mask

Thanks Ben. I plan to do more photos, but I got a lead on a costumer that's working on a more "authentic" (hopefully) overcoat for me. I have several now but none that I'm really happy with. If, however, I want to dress like a gangster in 30 degree weather I'm all set.

Thanks. Definitely more comfortable than the urethane one I have.

Re: Where to get a green Chesterfield coat

Out of curiosity, has anyone purchased the CY Productions Green Hornet coat? Attached is a picture of what he offers, but to my eyes the seams are a little puckered, and the overall quality isn't great, especially for what he's charging. On the other hand, finding a coat this style in the correct co...

Re: hornets sting

Update: I made another version of the Sting prop using some 3-D printed parts and different gems for the collar. This is pretty close to the picture of the original prop that I was working from, although it doesn't match the Factory Entertainment replica. No lights or sound effects, but I think it c...

Re: hornets sting

Well, if I end up doing a Green Hornet cosplay, I would love to have a more realistic prop. I ordered a mask, hat, and green overcoat, which together cost about the same as the FE Sting. I am working on version 2, so maybe I can get a little closer. If I had the know-how I would add some green LEDs ...

Re: hornets sting

I just made my first one, and I started with an extendable selfie-stick (available on Ebay for under $20) as the main body. It extends to about 42 inches. I removed the hardware and cut the front and back tips with a hacksaw. The handle I made from a part from a curling iron I found in a thrift stor...
