Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #103: Pop vs Camp: Which is Batman ’66?

Right. Exactly. All in the closet. Incorrect. Secret identities are an ancient concept in civilization--both as a real tool for concealment and in creative concepts. For the record, I was being facetious... In regards to the rest of your comment, if I understand you correctly, it is your belief tha...

Re: I think Dozier rolled the dice with Gorshin

Perhaps Gorshin wasn't as big a name with a wider audience as Burgess Meredith, but maybe he was hot with the audience that Dozier was looking for? A younger, hipper audience?

Re: It is interesting to note how many actors are best known for their Batman characters

I'd imagine that IMDB compiles those lists based on what their users are searching for. Seems as good a measuring stick as any. In regards to Cesar Romero, though he had a very successful career outside of Batman, his Joker getup is so iconic and instantly recognizable, it's not surprising that it w...

https://youtu.be/bAXLCwJCugA Just checking in to let you know that I care. Also, and I know this pales in comparison to the points brought up already in this thread, but... Though strudel is a German word, it is also a traditional food of more eastern European countries as well. Though I agree that...

Re: I'm glad that Julie didn't do the movie

I'm not sure I'd say that I'm glad Julie Newmar didn't do the movie... so much as I'd say, I'm glad that Lee Meriwether did! I think she's great.

it might have worked... or been an embarrassment.
This could be said of a lot of the show, if not the entire concept altogether. Luckily, it did work! :D Maybe Gleason would've done alright.

Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #100: Adam West's Signature Role

Great discussion here. I was sort of hoping we'd get a Batman Returns episode in time for the holidays (what? am I the only one? ;) ), but an Adam West and Bill Dozier interview is probably more appropriate for a milestone like episode #100. Dozier does get some flack, even here from the shows bigge...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #099: The Kitt-y Cat Shows her Claws

Eartha Kitt is a fantastic Catwoman, perhaps the most underrated portrayal of the character ... ever! Julie is still my favorite, but I think if Eartha had been given that Season One script, she would have knocked it out of the park. Unfortunately, she gets stuck with weaker material here, but she s...

Re: POLL: Does The Siren have a superpower?

This is a tough question. My preference is that she doesn't have one. That's my preference, too, for the reasons that you stated. Even so, it's tough for me to interpret the Siren and her power as anything but supernatural. Same thing goes for the Joker's time box. I don't know why those things are...
