Where did you get the pattern for them?
I used an old Butterick glove pattern, and resized it to 110% :)

Been following your thread and I'm really digging your work! Quick question: You mentioned using "fake suede" for the glove palms; is that the same as "ultrasuede" or is it something else? Second question: Now that your husband's costume is nearly done, what costume will you mak...

Re: working on first Batman outfit :)

For the buckle, Rob used Chuck's pattern and dremeled the shapes, crafted the inside buckle parts and welded them on. Then used rivets with washers to attach onto the leather belt. For the boots, we used ladies leather boots, cut them off at the ankle, re-hemmed the tops, re-glued the top edges insi...

Re: working on first Batman outfit :)

It all looks great! Look forward to seeing the final product. Tacking the inside seam allowances is to keep the layers from shifting. And you may find that over time, the satin will stretch/sag unevenly, just from its own weight, making odd bulges. But you can always go back and do some tacks after...

Re: working on first Batman outfit :)

Here's the belt so far, my hubby is making that. He used leather stretched over wood blocks, a la Chuck's instructions and pattern. He welded the tubes.

Re: working on first Batman outfit :)

OK here's some more pics! I finished the cape. I decided to hem the cape without zig zag stitching. (I know it's not authentic). I also didn't tack the inside seam allowances together, hopefully it will still be ok. Thoughts?
