Re: TO THE BATPOLES #116: Victor Buono: Holy Ad-Libbed Comedy!

There two Victor Buonos at work in his portrayal of Tut: the one who was sneering and demanding from his first appearance, and the gradual downslide into screaming, insulting man-child that would shape the rest of his appearances, but both sides stem from his talent more than any other influence. St...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #115: Two Batman Parodies

By the way, the piece is credited to "M & O.O. Severin," which I take it to mean Marie Severin, but the "O.O."--is referring to? O.O. was a pseudonym used occasionally by John Severin , Marie's brother and frequent collaborator. Oh, I know who John Severin was, but on most of his signed work that I...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #115: Two Batman Parodies

Nice trip off the season three path, guys! I guess it goes without saying, that in the 1960s, MAD was the Gold Standard of parody comics, while Cracked and Not Brand Ecch were...there. MAD 's take on Batman was memorable not so much from the main story, but from the endless background images/message...

Interesting. I wonder if he will have any scenes with the Batwoman character.

I would like to see other angles of the WW figure's face, because this does not really look like Carter that much.

Robin looks good, but the torso seems stretched.

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #114: Putting "Clean Sweep" under the microscope

Amazing how you guys can make interesting shows from season three episodes that would not make the cut of a Bazooka Joe comic strip. Listening to your show, my mind drifted back to "Fine Feathered Finks," and how that was the way the Penguin should be written...only for the reminiscing to hit a bric...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #113: Tying Ourselves in Knots: Nora Clavicle Reconsidered (with “Twof”!)

Thumbs up to Tim, Paul and Fred for trying to make sense of a very senseless episode. Typical of the regressive handling of Batgirl by the showrunners, I've always felt this episode was just another way for the PTB at Greenway to place women in a stereotypical box, where they mewed and squealed in b...

Re: SDCC Exclusive Pop

SDCC is putting out a maskless version of Kato which makes no sense and doesn't look good. Last year they had the two pack of The Green Hornet and Kato. I understand the idea behind a mask-less Kato--trying to attract the basic Lee collector, but something tells me the face will look more like the ...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #112: Court BAT-tles: The Law on the '66 Show

Its odd that a series that set out to have Batman be so "up" on just about every law known to mankind would eventually be portrayed as being legally inept in certain episodes. I'm nut sure If that was done for humor (not that average audience member would be able to identify holes in Batman's applic...

Re: BURT WARD Gets Star on Hollywood Walk of Fame

Finally. Burt certainly deserves the honor. Before landing the role of Robin, there was no model or example to base his energetic/aggressive version on at all. His version made such an impact, that I would say the majority of adapted Robins to follow borrowed from his performance in one way or anoth...

Re: Favorite Catwoman Actress?

Newmar. Although the comic version has taken on other personality traits over the decades, the Newmar version remains the one most associated with the character. Her first appearance is as flawless as any villain in the series, and arguably one of the best live action interpretations of a comic char...
