Re: TO THE BATPOLES #118: "Flash Gordon": Lorenzo Goes to Space Camp

What a hot mess. Although its the popular assumption that DeLaurentis was jumping on the sci-fi bandwagon triggered by Star Wars , to me, Flash Gordon fell into the category of comic strip adaptations that were (arguably) more inspired by the success of Superman the Movie . After Superman 's phenome...

Re: Guide to Green Hornet Book is out

I would like to see some preview pages of this before I would consider buying it, just to make sure there aren't the same regurgitated myths about the series are not used as fact.

Re: If Green Hornet had a boat what would it look like?

Everybody knows that Batman had his Batboat and I was wondering if The Green Hornet had lasted 3 years like Batman did what would his boat would've looked like?I'm putting this out to all who know how to draw(and those who don't)to come up with some concept drawings to see what it would've looked l...

Re: green hornet mask

The mask seems cool. No idea how screen accurate it is, but at first glance it passes.

As for the hat, yeah, that's not very period accurate--a bit too high. I wonder of the basic hat style used for the series can be sourced on eBay, or some similar site...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #117: Ross' Final Shame

I'm very glad depictions of native Americans (and other stereotyped ethnic/racial characters) have progressed as far as they have in 50-odd years, but I don't think I agree Standing Pat was especially egregious for the era, or that Hollywood had done all that much "scrubbing" of stereotyped portray...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #117: Ross' Final Shame

Final Shame is right...as in Shame's worst episode, but for the series.... [Desmond Doomsday Voice]...the worst is yet to come!![/Desmond Doomsday Voice] On occasion, the mother-in-law one-liners were funny, only because the character is saying what some in the audience would love to about any relat...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #116: Victor Buono: Holy Ad-Libbed Comedy!

There two Victor Buonos at work in his portrayal of Tut: the one who was sneering and demanding from his first appearance, and the gradual downslide into screaming, insulting man-child that would shape the rest of his appearances, but both sides stem from his talent more than any other influence. St...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #115: Two Batman Parodies

By the way, the piece is credited to "M & O.O. Severin," which I take it to mean Marie Severin, but the "O.O."--is referring to? O.O. was a pseudonym used occasionally by John Severin , Marie's brother and frequent collaborator. Oh, I know who John Severin was, but on most of his signed work that I...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #115: Two Batman Parodies

Nice trip off the season three path, guys! I guess it goes without saying, that in the 1960s, MAD was the Gold Standard of parody comics, while Cracked and Not Brand Ecch were...there. MAD 's take on Batman was memorable not so much from the main story, but from the endless background images/message...

I would like to see other angles of the WW figure's face, because this does not really look like Carter that much.

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #114: Putting "Clean Sweep" under the microscope

Amazing how you guys can make interesting shows from season three episodes that would not make the cut of a Bazooka Joe comic strip. Listening to your show, my mind drifted back to "Fine Feathered Finks," and how that was the way the Penguin should be written...only for the reminiscing to hit a bric...
