Re: Chuck Bail has passed away

As the show approaches fifty-five years old, the inevitability of living in world without anybody involved in the show left with us is rapidly becoming a reality. That being said, legacy is everything and the fact we're here discussing such things a half-century later (and counting) is not nothing....

Best Bat- Birthday wishes to Ms. Newmar, and hopefully many more to come! And, as a side note, my gosh, she is still stunning at 86!

Re: Batman Lava Soap Commercial

Very cool! Thanks for posting! Being born after the series originally aired, I have long wondered who sponsored the show, and if we would ever be able to see cast commercials (or if they even existed.) Glad to see this one, and let's hope a few more turn up some day.

Re: Adam has died

Just found out the news about 10 minutes ago, and felt the need to come here. With Mr. West's advancing years, this is one of those things that while we all knew would come someday, still comes as a shock and punch to the gut when it becomes reality. I am very fortunate to have met Mr. West on one o...

Re: Burt Reynolds as Batman?

I really can't imagine anyone doing the "camp" Batman any better than Adam West, but if you check out Reynolds as Quint Asper on Gunsmoke, I think he would have done a fine job as Batman, maybe in a little more "serious" take of the character.

No offense, but Justin Bieber would get a huuuuge "no!" vote from me in any Batman project, real or imagined.

Re: 50 years to the day

In an interesting parallel, just like in 2016, LBJ would give the State of the Union address on Jan. 12, 1966. I guess this explains why there were no episodes of The Big Valley on ABC, Green Acres or Dick Van Dyke on CBS, or Bob Hope Presents the Chrysler Theater on NBC aired on the night of our be...

50 years to the day

Like many others here, I'm sure, I will be in front of the tv tomorrow (1/12) night and push "play" on the blu ray player at precisely 6:30 pm (50 years to the minute that Hi Diddle Riddle premiered here in the Central Time Zone.) I'm also going to dig into my dvd collection to play some o...

Re: Anyone here old enough to remember the original run?

I was born in 1971, so I missed out on the original airings. My question is, who sponsored the show? Does anyone know if there were commercials for the sponsor(s) made by the cast as there was for other shows during the 1960s?

Re: R.I.P. Lesley Gore

Sad to hear. In this day and age 68 seems too young to go, although we all know cancer strikes across all ages. A sad reminder of the passage of time, and how brief our time on earth really is.

Re: NO BATMAN ORIGIN "66" MOVIE ??

I think it was just a case of a different mind-set in that time. I believe that the show's producers just felt a re-telling of the origin just wasn't necessary. By 1966, Batman and Robin were well-known, established characters, unlike Gilligan's Island, Bewitched, etc. in which case an origin, or in...
