So great! Did you really have a Futura replica or is that post-production magic?

Re: Did anybody notice...???

There are a couple of funky pronunciations at play in the hot-air balloon cliffhanger that spans "The Puzzles are Coming" and "The Duo is Slumming." In Desmond Doomsday's narration of the first episode's conclusion, he refers to the altimeter tracking the balloon's ascent as an "alti-MEE-ter". In th...

Another fun installment. Thanks to Tim, Paul and Kyle. Regarding Dozier and Semple's use of vintage comics in addition to contemporary ones as the basis for TV episodes, at least part of the story lies in Batman #176 (December 1965), an all-reprint issue focused on costumed supervillains. It include...

Re: Fiberglass Freaks Merch!

I'd love to spring for one of Fiberglass Freaks' signature products, but I'm afraid a T-shirt is all that's in the budget these days. The one I got a few years ago never fails to draw compliments.

Re: Batman Stuff You'd Never Part With...

This is the only remnant I have of first-wave Batmania. It was in the bedroom I eventually shared with my two brothers (the younger one having been born during the series run). I took possession of it sometime during my college years. I love it, but it's no museum piece. It's rusty and a little ding...

Re: BSO Plays Batman Theme Live

This is great! As a New Englander, when I saw BSO I thought of the Boston Symphony Orchestra, so this ended up being a lot more rocking than I expected. Brian Setzer is cool, and this rendition is great. The masked horn players are a nice bonus! Thanks for sharing.

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #120: Can Superman solve "Batman's Great Mystery"?

Great episode, even if it took a "double listen" to both the radio program and the podcast itself. I liked the radio adventure, but I totally agree about the show's ambiguous handling of the Bruce/Batman and Dick/Robin dual identities. The bank has Batman's bank accounts? Henderson and Kent go to Ro...

Re: Arlen Schumer Article On The Show

I'm tempted to quote Sprangfan's first post above in its entirety, because it's very well stated and I'm basically in total agreement. I've picked a couple of excerpts and reshuffled their order, to amplify on a couple of points. As Arlen himself points out, Detective Comics (if not Batman...but may...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #119: Eureka! Is “Mummy’s Uncle” our favorite Season Three episode?

Pardon me, but I have to point out, Tim, that it was I who mentioned that when I appeared on the podcast. Willy Mack clearly was a pseudonym for Dozier, as fellow board member epaddon deduced a while back. Given that we were reviewing 'Wail,' perhaps you had heard Siren's stunning note so many time...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #119: Eureka! Is “Mummy’s Uncle” our favorite Season Three episode?

GREAT catch about the recycled Wayne Manor study/batpoles scene from the first Tut episode. Wow! I wonder if the cheat was a consequence of splitting a two-parter into single episodes. FWIW, Mt. Ararat's main claim to fame is that it's known as the spot where Noah's Ark came to ground as the great f...

Re: Things you didn't notice or remember until seeing the DVDs

Plus, it was also a great place for Sammy Davis Jr. and his band to practice.   Ha! Yes. I'm glad you mentioned that, because when the episode ran I momentarily wondered what tune Sammy was resuming as he turned away from the window and back to his rehearsal, then it slipped my mind...

Re: Things you didn't notice or remember until seeing the DVDs

This may be a little skewed from the intent of the thread, since it's not about a detail revealed in remastered video, but it concerns something I took a long time to notice (and it doesn't warrant a thread of its own). I've been running Season 2 shows in the background as I work; it helps me stay i...
