Re: Rapid Fire Screenshotting/Screencapping...is this a thing?!

How about that! Ben and I posted essentially the same advice 1 minute apart. The VLC Player trick is definitely a little wonky, so hopefully two tutorials are better than one. :)

Re: Wow! Unseen Adam West Interview 1966

I love the clip -- and it's new to me. Any idea of the date of this clip? If they were still shooting Fine Feathered Finks when this interview was shot, wouldn't it have to have been before the show premiered? Even if they'd finished shooting the episode and just had Adam climb the giant umbrella as...

Re: Rapid Fire Screenshotting/Screencapping...is this a thing?!

The VLC player (free for Windows, Mac and Linux) lets you extract frame grabs as you play a given video clip. The method is explained in section 2 of this webpage. As far as I know, VLC requires you to have the video file stored on a local drive; I don't think it works with commercial DVDs or Blu-Ra...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES: #136 Freeze/Penguin teamup and Dozier's ten rules

Another great episode. I especially enjoyed the discussion of William Dozier's "10 Rules" memo, which I had not been aware of before. The most fascinating thing about Dozier's memo may be that Batman hadn't even been on the air three weeks when he composed it. The note is dated Jan. 27, 1966, which ...

Re: The Shakespeare Bust is about to give up it's secrets!

This is amazing detective work.

Do we know who the subject of the original bust was? Christopher Marlowe? Edward de Vere? (Shakespeare-nerd humor perhaps only the Puzzler could love. ;) )

Re: Video Bat-Chat is back!

Thanks for hosting the Friday chat, and for putting up with my wonky mic and other technical issues. I'll have a new computer soon, so hopefully the next time I join things will go more smoothly. It was fun to see and talk "face to face" with you all and I hope to do it again soon.

Production dates for Batgirl Presentation Reel?

I feel like this info must be available somewhere in the depths of the Board's collective knowledge, but my search efforts have come up empty. When was the Batgirl presentation reel shot? Yvonne used to sell autographed copies of a script dated January 16, 1967, and I'm wondering how soon after it w...

Re: 1960s Animated Batman videogame for Mac computers?

I remember these from back in the day. They were as close as we got at the time to having the Filmation cartoons on our Macs. The animated sequences played in small QuickTime video windows embedded in virtual comic book panels, and the mashup story, pieced together from multiple Filmation episodes, ...

Re: Digital Episodes

I lost track of my digital episodes when Flixster migrated to Vudu, but FWIW, I don't think they were ever downloadable, just streamable.

Re: The (Jigsaw) Puzzles are Coming

Despite a cloth covering, our cat scattered enough pieces that I put the puzzle away. I'm heading to my mom's for an extended stay next week, and I'm bringing it with me for another try. Fingers crossed that the kitty didn't make off with any pieces.

Dick Tracy hat-tip to '66 Batman

Seven or eight years ago, I started following the Dick Tracy daily comic for the first time since childhood after hearing of a plotline that revived an old Tracy villain, Broadway Bates, and gave him a new connection to a character from the bat-universe: Tracy put Bates away after he committed a ser...

Re: Slot Car Set Recreated

Awesome. And it's got newfangled digitally controlled cars that don't rely on the track for power.

I imagine if there were a '66 Batmobile model available, this guy would have one. But producing one should be on somebody's to-do list.
