Re: Puzzle pieces Upside Down

Yep. In the episode "The Joker Trumps an Ace," Bruce and Dick are assembling a jigsaw puzzle together:

Dick: It's so much harder with the pieces upside down.
Bruce: Of course. Think of what excellent training it is for your visual memory.
Dick: Gosh yes, I guess that's true.

Re: The (Jigsaw) Puzzles are Coming

Is it possible to enlarge the photo? If it isn't, I apologize for asking. I bumped up against the board's maximum file size for attachments (i.e., images you can drag and drop onto a post). I've replaced the attachments with remote image links, so now you should be able to see an enlarged view of b...

Re: The (Jigsaw) Puzzles are Coming

Here's the progress in the next 24 hours —mostly due to an insomniac hour Sunday night, after I took the previous pic. A few familiar faces are starting to emerge. http://jimakin.com/images/BatJigsawPuzzle/BatJigsawPuzzle2.png I'm following a modified version of the program Yellow Oval has spelled o...

The (Jigsaw) Puzzles are Coming

A rainy weekend in isolation prompted me to dig out a jigsaw puzzle I received for Christmas a few years back. I'm not especially skilled at these things, so it certainly helps pass the time. Here's how far I got after spending close to an hour last night, just turning all 1,000 pieces over, and the...

Re: Batman POW pumps for your gal

Fun find! I'm afraid I don't know anyone who'd wear them, but they're apparently exclusive to Macy's. Choose the "Pow Bling" color option.

Re: Were the Green Hornet episodes the only ones not to have a Guest Villian in the credits?

With the difference in tones in both shows (especially by Batman's second season), how many of you can admit to watching both shows when they originally aired? I was nearly four when Batman premiered (my birthday is in March) and immediately captivated by the show. As a kid that young, I naturally ...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #127: It’s a “Challenge” Just to Sit Through “Legends”

Thanks for watching this so I don't have to. :) From the sound clips you included, the only bits I think I'd want to see are those featuring Gorshin and those with Howard Morris as Dr. Sivana. I first knew of Morris as a voice actor (though I didn't KNOW I knew him at the time) playing Atom Ant on S...

Re: ‘66 poster promoting the yet to be released show

Who is the guy in the costume? Is that a prototype Batman costume from before the series was made? Photos are from a promotional event -- what we'd call a "watch party" these days--held the night the series debuted at Harlow's, a NYC dicotheque. Burgess Meredith and Bob Kane were on hand, and so wa...

Re: Did anybody notice...???

Another note on the Zodiac Crimes trilogy: There's a subtle nod to 1964's Dr. Strangelove in the silly seduction scene between Penguin and Venus in "The Penguin Declines," as Penguin urges Venus to conserve "precious bodily fluids." Penguin: Tell me, my heavenly hyacinth: When was the last time you ...

Re: Did anybody notice...???

There are a couple of funky pronunciations at play in the hot-air balloon cliffhanger that spans "The Puzzles are Coming" and "The Duo is Slumming." In Desmond Doomsday's narration of the first episode's conclusion, he refers to the altimeter tracking the balloon's ascent as an "alti-MEE-ter". In th...
