Re: Batgirl Movie Cancelled

Admittedly it doesn't help that I've never regarded the Superman/Lois relationship as one of the great romances of literary history and I especially didn't think Reeve and Kidder's versions of the characters belonged together. It also doesn't help that DC, since 1995 at least, consistently portraye...

Re: Keaton Back As Batman?

Keaton's Batman is said to be a sort of Nick Fury for the DC Universe. I'd love to see him back for a full on Dark Knight Returns but I doubt Hollywood could get it right. Even if I didn't violently despise The Dark Knight Returns and all the damage it caused to the Batman mythos in the long term, ...

Re: STAR TREK art commission: Movie-era Kirk by Ethen Beavers

It's a neat piece but I'm getting George Clooney rather than Shatner-- but Clooney would have been a better choice for Kirk than the Pike guy IMO. If they were picking up from the Motion Picture - Undiscovered Country era rather than a total reboot, I'd agree. There are a lot of gaps in that period...

STAR TREK art commission: Movie-era Kirk by Ethen Beavers

https://i.imgur.com/kmgAeJl.jpg A recent art commission by Ethen Beavers, an artist whose credits include Batman: The Brave and the Bold , Samurai Jack , Batman: The Animated Series , Star Wars , and even '60s-era Star Trek . He opened up for commissions earlier this year on his Instagram page, and...

Re: First Look - Battinson Revealed

I just read the Bat Emblem is “spoiler alert “ two halves of the gun used to kill his parents. The style is noir, and maybe more detective than superhero. I could enjoy that. Even the ‘66 series had detective work in each episode. That still doesn't justify how ugly the suit is, or how unrecognizab...

Re: The Latest Batman Item You've Acquired?

If art commissions count, here's my new acquisition: a Batman/Catwoman pencil piece by Dheeraj Verma ( Lady Death , Transformers ). https://i.imgur.com/zwOs2wA.jpg I'll probably be having it inked over bluelines by at least one inker. I think the loose rendering of the background would lend itself n...

Re: First Look - Battinson Revealed

I don’t know 🤷‍♀️ either if I’ll watch the movie it doesn’t look right to me is it like the comic books? Honestly...no. It looks like it's trying to mimic the Arkham video game armor, but does so very, very badly. We don't even have anything resembling a bat symbol on the chest anymore, just an abs...

Re: Batman Stuff You'd Hate To Part With...

The Batman stuff I'd hate to part with would be, in the following order: - a Chris Moreno art print personally autographed by Adam West at Motor City Comic Con 2006 - a Batman/Catwoman pencil commission by Tom Grummett - a 2014 Batman convention sketch by Jose Luis Garcia Lopez and Mark McKenna - th...

New art commission: Dean Cain Superman vs. John Shea Lex Luthor by Chris Williams

https://pbs.twimg.com/media/ENdKLHOWoAAXlNu?format=jpg&name=4096x4096 I'd had the pleasure of commissioning Chris Williams back in 2015 to do a Little Mermaid/ Grease mashup (with his regular inker Jake Isenberg), and after seeing his art for the Marvel movies, I was interested in having him do...

Re: ‘66 poster promoting the yet to be released show

Agreed. I don't want to derail this topic any more than I may already have. As far as the poster goes...I'm not impressed by it. From the choice of image to the blank background to putting the series announcement on his boot sole, nothing about it works. It's not something that would get anyone exci...

Re: ‘66 poster promoting the yet to be released show

So I get where fans of the Silver and Bronze Ages would make a villain out of what they saw as a charlatan. I don't get where post-Miller fans would make a villain out of two guys whose only crime -- as far as fans with no sense of history know -- was that they weren't Frank Miller. I mean, do they...

Re: ‘66 poster promoting the yet to be released show

Kane always looked like an oily creep to me. Lol! An “oily creep”!?!? I’ve noticed there’s not a lot of love for Bob Cane in the Batman world nowadays. Is that because there’s a feeling that he ripped off Bill Finger? Not really. A lot of Batman fans who came in with the Dark Knight Returns / Year ...

RIP Carroll Spinney (SESAME STREET)

I had the opportunity to meet him at Great Lakes Comic Con back in February, and despite his failing health -- he would retire from public appearances soon after -- he was a gentleman to the very end. https://www.facebook.com/SesameStreet/photos/a.314049424548/10157828544644549/?type=3&theater H...

A forgotten Batman villain: The Banner

Since I've been on a roll of bringing up forgotten Batman stuff, I might as well mention a short-lived villain who I had high hopes for...and was instantly disappointed by. In this case, the Banner, from Larry Hama and Scott McDaniel's brief Batman run post-"No Man's Land." When the new cr...
