Re: A Revisit To The Bookworm
To this day, I find it surprising that Bookworm was a one-shot villain. I wonder if it had more to do with Roddy McDowall's availability than with the character. Seems to me that the writers could have done a lot with a criminal who commits literary-themed crimes. (Imagine Bookworm launching a crimi...

Re: Third Season Queries and What Ifs
I find it interesting that although Catwoman was played by Eartha Kitt in season 3, the character's appearance in the Dr. Cassandra episode was modeled on Julie Newmar. The casting of Kitt put an end to the flirtation between Catwoman and Batman, and I find that Kitt's Catwoman is written as an edgi...

Re: NEW 2019 HALLMARK BATMAN ORNAMENTS!!!
Wow! That is the best representation of the Yvonne Craig Batgirl that I've ever seen! The detailing is perfect!
So, am I correct in assuming that we'll get The Penguin in 2020 and that will be the end of the Batman '66 ornament series?

Re: Batman with Tammy Grimes?!!!
Great photo. I assume it was taken somewhere on the Fox lot. I like the idea of them hanging out when they weren't needed on their respective sets. I've seen two episodes of "The Tammy Grimes Show," on YouTube, and found the show to be funnier than I expected. Of course, I have a weakness ...

Re: Worst Bat Villain Cast
Strictly in terms of casting, Art Carney stands out as a poor choice for Archer. I appreciate the attempt at offbeat casting, but I think the character and the episode would have been better served by someone like Jack Cassidy. Another weak choice, in my opinion, was John Astin as The Riddler. I sus...

Re: 2015 Hallmark ornaments
Considering that this is the 50th anniversary of the series, I'm surprised they aren't doing a '66 Batman ornament. Maybe the line wasn't as popular as Hallmark had hoped. They certainly could have ran that series for a good couple of years as they have done others. I know that I was prepared to &qu...

Re: ROOM 222/BATMAN Connection?
Good find! Is the problem making screen caps, or posting? I can post them if you can make them. My computer isn't connected to my TV, so I can't make screen caps... :( Continuing this thread, Burgess Meredith guest-starred in the first episode of Season Three, as a politician who locks horns with t...

ROOM 222/BATMAN Connection?
The ASPIRE cable network has been airing reruns of ROOM 222. Beginning with the second season, some of the episodes feature scenes in Alice Johnson's (Karen Valentine) classroom. Alice is an English teacher, and one of the objects in her classroom is a bust of William Shakespeare. Call me crazy, but...

Re: The Archer, a missed opportunity (no pun intended)
Jack Cassidy would have been good as The Archer. I think he could have given the character a certain vanity and self-delusion, as well as imbuing him with a sinister quality.

Re: Scary Villians
False Face. To this day, that shot of him reflected in the vending machine gives me the creeps. Also, while I didn't find Zelda herself frightening, the sight of Aunt Harriet suspended over a vat of flaming oil did scare me. And I agree with Progress Pigment -- the mildewed Louie the Lilac did have ...

Re: Parodied Names in the '66 series
In "The Thirteenth Hat/Batman Stands Pat," The Mad Hatter impersonates sculptor Octave Marbot. Well, last night, I was watching Luis Bunuel's Diary of a Chambermaid and noticed in the credits that the screenplay was based on a novel by Octave Mirbeau.

Re: Which Villain was The Highest Paid?
Based on what I've read, all "Special Guest Villains (and Villainesses)" were paid the same amount of money. I think it was $1250 per half-hour episode.
