My second part title would be Batman’s Hand is Dealt.

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #133: Scott Sebring is here! Holy Bat-cyclopedia!

The Smack in the Middle recap without the narration makes me think how the narrations were originally intended to be captions to resemble a comic book, eventually what the Wonder Woman television show used to establish settings. It would be interesting to see a version of the show with that element ...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #125 Minerva: Holy self-parody!

The blu-ray subtitles read "pressurized campaigners." Note that the Oxford dictionary lists as "similar" to campaigner the words crusader , fighter , and battler . Holy misheard! I remember there was some discrepancies over the subtitles on other episodes, such as Batman’s line in Smack in the Midd...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #125 Minerva: Holy self-parody!

Fair enough. But then it's definitely an 'A' sound as in 'can,' not an 'O' sound as in 'containers.' Right, the pronunciation of container is “kuhn· tei·nr,” which makes the first syllable sound like “caan” than “con,” as in “conjugate.” As I said, the emphasis Dozier inflicts here and in other cas...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #125 Minerva: Holy self-parody!

I just listened to it several times and it is difficult to tell one way or another. It almost sounds like 'canned tainers.' Not sure how you can hear a “M” instead of a “N,” which is clearly enunciated. The reason it sounds like that is all part of the pompous nature Dozier put into the narrations ...

Penguin said “Faugh!” a number of times throughput the series. Here’s how many times he said it in the movie alone: https://getyarn.io/yarn-find?text=Faugh

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #125 Minerva: Holy self-parody!

Desmond Doomsday was saying “pressurized CONTAINERS,” not “campaigners.” The sound clip you provided clearly states that.

The last thug that goes down with the flower bowl on his head goes down due to Batman and Robin punching him.

Re: Looks Like Shazam! is Coming to Blu-Ray!

Interesting. I wonder if this s just a transfer from the source used for the DVDs. Moreover, the DVD had once-lost "lesson" tags as a special feature, but not added back to their original episodes, so I would be curious to know if they found clean versions of those cut segments. Yes, the moral segm...

KHJ Promotion

For the Once Upon A Time in Hollywood soundtrack, Quentin Tarantino has managed to dig up an old promotion for KHJ “Boss” radio featuring Adam West and Burt Ward in character! Although it may be a little anachronistic, as the film is set after the TV was cancelled, what a find! Take a listen! https:...

Re: Twilight actor may be next screen Batman

It seems that we’ve hit a point where actors are seeing that taking on the role of Batman is more trouble than its worth. There have been so many iterations of the character, namely the dark and serous approach, that’s there’s nothing new for them to contribute other than just being the next person ...

Re: Batman 1989 on the Big Screen!

Batman ‘89 had a new sound mix? I noticed the gunfire was much improved, that’s it. I’ve been thinking about the movie all week. Parents brought their kids and it’s not really a kid movie. I wasn’t a fan of the new sound mix. Sure the original mix used the sound of Dirty Harry’s Magnum many times, ...
