Re: TO THE BATPOLES! #211: Holy overbooking! The Late Show’s Batman reunion

I concur with BATWINGED HORNET‘s sentiments. Late night talk shows are centered around entertainment and not being overly informative. This was intended as simply an outlet for Adam & Burt with the rest of the cast and crew to spout out their typical fodder that was on the convention and appeara...

West and Ward’s Residuals Earnings

I was reading on another Batman forum that posted the following: “I read somewhere that TV show getting new life post-B89 finally made West and Ward millionaires from residuals. In particular, West went from decades of constant money struggles to being a mean of means and leisure very quickly. By 19...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #205: Batman - Star Trek ACT-OFF, pt. 2

About Gorshin: you know, I love his Riddler as much as anyone, but TOS' Commissioner Bele was a stunning, breakout performance for Gorshin, which should have been his ticket to take on other serious roles. Bele goes from uncompromising racist hunter of Lokai, to switching on his "reasonable&qu...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #205: Batman - Star Trek ACT-OFF, pt. 2

I felt compelled to write this response after your first round of discussions concerning Grace Lee Whitney. All three of you grossly overlooked her role on Star Trek and your lack of fair research once again came back to bite you hard. It wasn’t fair of all three of you to simply observe compilation...

Re: The “Speedster” Green Hornet car from the first serial.

Loved this car ever since I first saw the serial on VHS. George Barris would usually referred to this car when referring to the Batmobile of the comics being a Zephyr with a bat face on the front.

Re: Batman: The Movie on HBO Max

Another indication that this is a new transfer is that the 20th Century Fox fanfare at the beginning has been replaced with the one they played in the 80’s. Not a fan of this decision. What? You mean the then-new, early 1980s Fox fanfare composed by John Williams? It sounds exactly like this, but w...

Batman: The Movie on HBO Max

I happen to come across Batman: The Movie on HBO Max to see if this transfer differed from the Blu-ray. I immediately went to the United World Security Council scenes, which have had noticeable framing issues reading the nations’ place cards since the first widescreen transfer on the DVD. They were ...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #187: "Superman" musical: It's not a bird, but is it camp?

Someone will have to further convince me on why Lesley Ann Warren would’ve been suitable for the Christopher Reeve Superman. Her screen test with Reeve displayed a broad theatrical sensibility that wasn’t suitable for the verisimilitude tone that Richard Donner was striving for. There’s an interview...

Re: Not excited AT ALL about upcoming film "The Batman"

Just a friendly heads up. Let's ease off on possible spoilers and Easter eggs at his time. Let people who are going to see it "experience it" without foreknowledge of such things. The pleasant surprises and nods. After a month or so, folks can then compare those kind of notes. Thanks. htt...

Re: Not excited AT ALL about upcoming film "The Batman"

References to the show I noticed:
- A bust (possibly Shakespeare, wasn’t sure) in the Wayne penthouse
- A black telephone similar to the Batphone with multiple lines extensions
- A older female housekeeper similar to Aunt Harriet
- Batman running down a building like the wall climb

Re: Full screen version

I can confirm the LaserDisc is open matte. The movie scenes from this featurette utilize the same remastered 4X3 version.
