Re: Production cast cowl shell/ Holy Grail
I'm not making any changes to the shell but I did put it in the mold of the Ultimate Cowl so I could cast clay behind it and fill in the missing parts. Once it's done, and a new mold created, the shell will get cleaned up and put on display. It's difficult to imagine that the studio prop shop or a p...

Re: Anyone know who made this face plate for the McFarlane 1:1 cowl?
Good for you Chuck! There is a guy on Ebay who has for years been selling recasted masks from Don Post Studios. He says in his ads he got them years ago and cant remember from who. Yet he always comes up with new copies to sell which says he's lying and still cranking them out. Years ago i obtained...

Re: Anyone know who made this face plate for the McFarlane 1:1 cowl?
The "I bought it someplace else" is a way to get around recasting. Fortunately I spotted them trying to sell my sculpture early enough that I was able to shut it down before they sold it. I've reported them dozens of times and dozens of times it's pulled. They actually contacted me a bitch...

Re: Anyone know who made this face plate for the McFarlane 1:1 cowl?
That is a !@#$#@!! knock off of my sculpture that has been reported to Ebay. It's a pair of thieves in the UK... I have reported them before... The gap between the face and the cowl has been filled and made to look like flesh. Here you can see how the face actually fits in that cowl. If they knocked...

Re: Production cast cowl shell/ Holy Grail
Thanks Guys!! I've been mulling over the next step in the restoration. AP, I don't think it was screen used. I wish it had been!! There is no sign of padding or traces of any cover ever being on it. It was just an unused casting or a test of some kind. My best guess is that it was cast during the sh...

Production cast cowl shell/ Holy Grail
If you keep looking , eventually you get lucky. In a trade for a covered cowl, I received what was described as "a production cast shell that was purchased from an estate sale in Hollywood". While it bears every bump I would expect to see in a production shell, in particular the seam down ...

Re: I had never noticed the “bat pad” inside Adam’s costume until today!
The two pair of original Robin tights I've seen had the same fabric in the gusset at the rest of the tight. This pair however is either a very unfortunate fabric grain/lighting set up or another style of tight with the more breathable gusset fabric. I know Burt hated the tights and they may have bee...

Re: I had never noticed the “bat pad” inside Adam’s costume until today!
The fabric has a slight sheen to it and the gusset is just reflecting light differently because the grain of the fabric is at a different angle than the legs of the tights.
The gusset on the bat tights is the same fabric as the legs.

Re: I had never noticed the “bat pad” inside Adam’s costume until today!
That is a gusset in the crotch of the tights. Most tights that are sewn up the back have them. It's just a way to keep all the seams from coming together in the center. Most the time, as in this case, it's the same fabric as the tight but in some cases it's a more breatheable fabric. Most of the pub...

Re: Catwoman’s Necklace
It's my belief that the necklace was simply not ready for the big screen.
It looked flashy on the small screen but would have been seen as the thrown together piece it was on the big screen.
My two cents...

Neal Adams Batman study
Hi All,
Just sculpted a 1/3rd scale study of a Neal Adams Batman. About 8 inches tall total.
It's in tan Chavant NSP medium oil clay.
It's been fun staying loose on this.
