Re: TO THE BATPOLES #127: It’s a “Challenge” Just to Sit Through “Legends”

The Spiderman live action series has never gotten its proper due IMO. I really wish though they'd kept Joanna "Isis" Cameron who was great in the two part "Deadly Dust" episode. Although the episodes that were combined into syndicated two hour movies were released on VHS, the show has never had a DV...

The first one was bad enough. Even worse was the "roast" special that aired next.

Re: Superman: The Movie Anniversary This Sunday 12/15/19

I remember seeing it theatrically at age nine. I can still remember the BIG audience laugh when Clark first takes a glimpse at the public telephone before he changes into Superman for the first time.

"Molly" in 70s Batman Comic Book!

Around 1975, there were three Batman comics (Batman #243-244 and Detective Comics #451) that featured a character named "Molly Post", a championship skiier who gets caught up in the action in the first Bat story and then appears again in a darker tale where she's the target of an assassin. While she...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #123: Dr. Cassandra makes the show disappear

Duff and Lupino's volatile marriage was on the rocks by this point. They separated a couple years later though the divorce took a decade to finalize and when it was, Lupino had a wastebasket made with his picture at the bottom. Their sitcom "Mr. Adams and Eve" sadly will never be seen again because ...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #120: Can Superman solve "Batman's Great Mystery"?

Jack Webb's daughter Stacey was in fact named after Stacy Harris because they were close friends. And yes, Harris usually did end up as a villain (and sometimes a psycho) on "Dragnet" though sometimes he did get to be a fellow cop.

Sid Haig and Jill St. John are also the only people to have done "Batman" and appeared in a James Bond movie ("Diamonds Are Forever."

The Riddle fight cue was also used in Part 2 of the Londinium trilogy and like that scene it was used because Batgirl wasn't present.

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #118: "Flash Gordon": Lorenzo Goes to Space Camp

Your mentioning of "Sheena" and how Semple's script was a dud, gets back to a basic flaw of him that even existed in his "Batman" days. When it came to writing female characters, Semple really didn't have a good grasp of them compared to other writers. That also showed big time in movies like "Fatho...

Re: Delightful trailer for a Batman '66 version of "The Dark Knight Rises"

About the only flaw is that some of the source material used is in a PAL format so that the music and voices in a number of clips are pitched up. Otherwise, great stuff! I saw a similar thing that did a trailer for the Daniel Craig "Casino Royale" in the style of the 1960s spoof "Casino Royale."

A popular mid-80s Broadway musical "Me And My Girl" revived the whole Lambeth Walk thing which was where I first became familiar with it.

Re: Third Season Queries and What Ifs

I got the sense that Frank knew he had to come back once in the wake of being replaced by John Astin that he needed to re-establish himself as THE Riddler. Even as he was absent from the show in S2 working Vegas etc. and arguing with Dozier over the money, he still liked to bask in the stature of be...
