Re: Batman '66 Book

Who does everyone want in such a book? "Batman Meets..." 1) Superman (George Reeves) 2) Superman (Christopher Reeve) 3) Captain Nice 4) Mister Terrific 5) Thunderbirds 6) Beverly Hillbillies I put up Christopher Reeve because I figured If they could have Wonder Woman, why NOT that Superman? Though I...

Re: I Love Season 3

In Part 2 of the Londonium serial, and in the episode where King Tut found the Batcave. :) I don't know why they didn't go with the Winch trap as a cliffhanger from Part 2 to 3; it was perfectly set up, maybe add in a transition of Lady Ffogg and the girls taking Robin to the winch room. Did they r...

Re: Batman '66 Book

Thank you for your responses, Gentlemen. :) That's also why I thought if they'd done a full-length story, and used a death-trap in the middle of the story. That way, it could still have been a done-in-one tale, and would have had a bit more of the feel of the TV show. When I was a kid, I was disappo...

Batman '66 Book

I know the series is already through except for the occasional specials (Come on, George (Superman) Reeves team-up!), but I just got the foist volume in TPB for Christmas. I now have the REST of the volumes to happily get! ;) I was just curious, though, about something... As entertaining as the seri...

Re: Talia in the 60's

Being immortal, wouldn't Talia have looked 25 for probably a couple of decades at least? :)

Re: Things you didn't notice or remember until seeing the DVDs

The thing I noticed recently was on ME-TV (I don't own the DVDs yet). It's how Batman's cowl actually has a BLACK shadow across it, just as his cowl does in the comics. I never noticed it before in earlier viewings, and wasn't sure I really saw it until I REALLY studied the show. I noticed it there ...

Re: Zsa Zsa Gabor dead at 99

RIP, Ms. Gabor

Who ELSE always got Zsa Zsa mixed up with her sister Eva as they grew up? Much of my youth was spent SWEARING Lisa Douglas was the bad guy on Batman! ;)

Re: I Love Season 3

I, too, enjoyed Season 3 for the most part. What I REALLY didn't like as a boy was the fact that the cliffhanger endings were gone, and the fight music was changed. They used what I always considered the BEST fight-music in only two episodes: In Part 2 of the Londonium serial, and in the episode whe...

Re: The Latest Batman Item You've Acquired?

The last Batman items I acquired were the Daily Comic Strips Vol. 1 (1966-1967) and the Batman and JLA PVC sets that Walgreen's sells every October. The PVC sets really remind me of the Ideal sets from the '60's, except the villains are in full color as well! These things really take me back. :)

Re: Who else missed the mid-60s?

I came around in '62, so I lived through the mid-'60's, but wasn't really aware of them. LOL :D Sprangfan, you mentioned television as being primitive, but there were still some excellent shows on in the '50's besides the ones you mentioned. Dragnet, Zorro, The Lone Ranger, Cisco Kid, Sgt. Preston.....

Re: Serials Based on Comic Characters

2. There were only so many scrapes our heroes could get into at the end of the chapter each week, that many of the serials re-used the same "inescapable death traps" that had been seen in other serials. One of my favorite cliffhangers was the "lava flow" or "molten steel" they'd use in so many seri...
