Re: Diving Deep into the Green Hornet for the First Time

To anyone who has watched both shows, which one handled the half-hour format better?
cheers

We have a first draft (titled "The Joker's Utility Belt," as was the comics story that it was based on), and a revised draft.
Thanks for sharing these!

Re: Batman Ratings

it was a mistake to build arcs around actors (people in Dozier's rolodex) rather than writing good villain characters and then finding actors to play them. I guess they were lucky to have any good episodes exist at all if that was what going on. True, the audience may have been done with the show l...

Re: The Dumbing Down of Batman

How about when he MUST fight Riddler because his honor and courage has been questioned. What happened to sticks and stones, etc. Basically, they would ignore Batman and Robin's innate character traits for either a plot point or a dumb punchline once Semple was out of the picture. That's a good poin...

Re: The Dumbing Down of Batman

Something about soaking themselves in hot water and epsom salts to counteract the poison. Obviously this isn't something viable in the moment so why would Batman even bring it up? Another moment is when they cover their eyes and enter the ladies changing room in Catwoman's Dressed To Kill. How were ...

The Dumbing Down of Batman

I just watched the clip when the Joker and his gang paralyze the Dynamic Duo with sea urchin spines. And Batman's response is funny (to a degree). But I feel like this is the perfect example of how they ruined the character; why would he say something so oblivious to their situation? I think in earl...

Re: Arlen Schumer Article On The Show

I try not to comment on articles I haven't read (and I still may) but this whole thing is a non-issue. There's now so many different versions of the character, just enjoy what you like and ignore what you don't. While there's elements of the production design and Kim Basinger was a hottie, same with...

Re: A Revisit To The Bookworm

When I think about it now, did any villain ever physically threaten a moll? Besides Joker's plan to poison Susie with Mexican perfume, he also tried to feed Venus to the giant clam. Tut subjected Nefertiti to his pebble torture and planned to boil Neila in oil after she freed Robin and Lisa Carson....

Re: Third Season Queries and What Ifs

The black-and-white Superman episodes definitely have a darker tone, with a criminal couple falling to their death off a cliff after being placed there by Superman, a crime witness having his mind destroyed by a machine, an elderly woman getting pushed down the steps in her wheelchair and even Lois...

Re: Third Season Queries and What Ifs

Robinboyblunderer, think it's just pure nostalgia for me :) I think if I'd seen the first season first then I may have felt different. I get what you say about Batgirl messing the chemistry up. It changes the formula so much. Another thing about season 3 I always wondered, is why they chose the Min...
