Re: Favorite Catwoman Actress?

JULIE. I've my issues with SRR's writing in the series but she's the purrfect standard against which all others are weighed. Slinky, sexy, funny, evil, conflicted...! I didn't like Lee at all, too cruel without the playful side. Eartha was just all right, passable, though she did have the perfect, a...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #111: "The Wrong Earth" and "The Batman Radio Show"

Holy Random Collection of Thoughts about to follow! I think Dozier gave a good response for the character. Having Molly pull Robin's mask off is like skipping dinner and eating the appetizer. What a let down for the Prince of Puzzlers. He really was fixated on the whole court unmasking, using the la...

Re: Script: THE SECRET OF THE IMPOSSIBLE CRIMES, by Leonard Stadd

It reminded me of a pair of chapters from the black & white Batman serials; and just like them I didn't care for it. Robin sitting in the chair wondering where Batman was while the Caped Crusader floats below also reminded me of the dumbed down Detective from the third series. I think the funeral ho...

Petey passed away with no suffering on April 18. Petey was 14.5 years old. He was a true Best Friend whom I will never forget.
I'm really sorry, he looks he was a very good dog. Please take care!

Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #108: The William Dozier Fanboy

Another winner, guys. Big thank you to Oscar Lilley for his laboring over the Dozier papers. Facts go such a long way in shattering long-accepted myths, such as Burt Ward being the "big head"/headache of the series (if you believe anything Stanley Ralph Ross ever said on the matter.... Not a word a...

Cool! Interesting that this doc finally made it to YouTube. There was a time when this was a trickier one to find!
Yes; back then anything with footage of the show was incredible to find.

Re: Busy Burgess

John Astin as the Penguin.

To stop being facetious, I actually think he could do a good version. It would be interesting if nothing else.

Or maybe out of respect, no more Penguin the fourth season; bring in some new villains from the comics.

Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #104: Batman Returns ...and Kyle appears

HAHA. I know this much--if Burton used, let's say, Siren as a villainess, she'd be half-bird like in the original mythology, and men would be leaping off buildings in conga lines. Holy Burtonesque! That about nails it. Batman Returns is terrible save Michelle Pfeiffer's performance.Anti-climatic, b...

Re: SCRIPT: THE FUNNY FELINE FELONIES

I think it definitely falls into the category of things we'd all like to read if it exists. 'Course it could be disappointing to actually read. My initial guess is the Olga storyline was repurposed from Catwoman since there was a marriage plot, so it was like that to a degree. Except on a ship. No b...

Re: SCRIPT: THE FUNNY FELINE FELONIES

Thanks for posting these. The episodes, no matter which draft are another good example of the failure of the third season. Mish-mashing villains, (just like Egghead and Olga though I think Joker/Catwoman work a bit better) plots that are all over the place, stupid scenes (shaking hands, gunpowder ex...

Re: I'm glad that Julie didn't do the movie

I just realized that maybe Lee in the role makes Bruce/Batman's oblviousness as to Kitka's identity easier to to believe since Catwoman is played by a different character. Though I suppose the name KITka should be a big giveaway. I think Julie completely set the standard for the role in her single a...

It's difficult to picture anyone but Burgess Meredith in the role. I think the big four were perfectly cast.
