Re: Burt & Yvonne Photo

It looks a million times better now that you can see it without the watermark.

Re: BURT WARD"S STAR ON WALK OF FAME_ MY COVERAGE

Yup two different Batgirls-- Sara is great-- she's a perfect choice for Yvonne-- she was in HOUSE OF THE WOLFMAN a few years ago and that was a fun throwback to the old Universal Monster Movies.

Re: Batman Animated figure

I share your perplexity Sprang-- I don't get it, I'll never get it and I don't need it. But ditto the sentiment, if this is your thing have at it.

Re: 1966 Batmobile with Engine Start Up

Yeah I had the same reaction (as an adult!) when the car was started outside Madison Square Garden many years ago. Common sense dictated that it's just a car but I expected more.

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #127: It’s a “Challenge” Just to Sit Through “Legends”

I was a huge fan of the Nicholas Hammond show when I was a kid-- never missed it. Sadly, it doesn't hold up for me. I get the concept of keeping things 'real' but it lacked the humour of the comics and it really could have used a decent super villain. Hammond was a guest here in Boston at the same v...

Re: 66 cowl in black

When I was a kid in the early 70s we only had a black and white TV-- the first time I saw Batman in color at a friends house I was shocked that his cowl wasn't black. Great work Will!

Re: Funko!!! 4 inch figs!!!!

They're making the big three villains plus Batman and Robin and a more true to dimensions Batmobile. There are pictures of it in a thread marked SDCC 2019

Re: BREAKING: BURT WARD’s Hollywood Walk of Fame Ceremony Set for January

In an interview at the event Burt claims the bat pole slide was 85 feet off the sound stage with no safety equipment. It’s this type of spouting of nonsense, which started with his book, that accounts for the fact that when Adam earned his star there were several pages of positive responses while wi...

Re: Funko!!! 4 inch figs!!!!

If you’re only selling to clear them out I’d hold on to them, Mezco’s don’t include the second tier villains so I bet those heat up as people try to “complete” their sets. Right now the Funko figures aren’t selling for much over retail, and in some cases well below wholesale.

Re: Burt & Yvonne Photo

Not sure exactly what you’re asking but here goes; 1- From the description, its a composite photo done by Todd Carson!! (Exclamation point his not mine). In other words its two separate photos put together as one, both are publicity photos. It says that this is an unseen closeup of Yvonne but I’ve s...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #127: It’s a “Challenge” Just to Sit Through “Legends”

As a pre-teen I was excited when these were in TV guide and then I watched them. I watched both of them and its like a light went off in my head-- just because you like something doesn't mean MORE of it is always a good thing, and just because there is more doesn't mean you have to sit through it. I...

Re: The Latest Batman Item You've Acquired?

Is the thread derailed? So many members of the Batboard seem to be focused on Facebook-- since I'm not there and never will be I look forward to some life here. I think your theory makes sense too-- without detailed pencils you end up with lesser results, so that may be it too. It is an impossible c...

Re: The Latest Batman Item You've Acquired?

Aparo's early work bested Adams IMO because he had both realism as well as more dynamic styling as your first illustration shows. Agree 1,000,000% that as the 80s crept in his style got far too simple to the point that it looked like clip art being used over and over again. I suspect, and have zero ...

Re: The Latest Batman Item You've Acquired?

All right so Wrightson inked by Aparo then! ;) Aparo, of whom I was a big fan, always overpowered his penciler on the rare occasion that he inked someone's work. Shockingly (sarcasm) I agree with Sprang, I love the athlete version of Batman and I find the ridiculously muscled version laughable. It's...
