Re: RIP Gary Owens

Didn't Mr. Owens even VOICE Batman in an episode of the '90's Batman cartoon? Yes, episode " Legends of the Dark Knight " from THE NEW BATMAN ADVENTURES (1998), aka the spinoff/continuation of BATMAN: THE ANIMATED SERIES. In the episode's segment paying tribute to the 1950s' comic book Ba...

Re: HOw many characthers were killed off ..or nearly so..?

In "The Joker's Provokers," the two henchmen are discussing what a great guy the Joker is. One mentions that Joker threw his parole officer into Gotham River with cement galoshes.

Re: Episode titles that don't quite make sense?

"The Cat's Meow / The Bat's Kow Tow"

Kow tow [sic], kowtow = bow to, defer, grovel. The Dynamic Duo win (naturally), so "The Cat's Kow Tow" would make sense, but not the episode title they went with.

Re: Signet paperback book question

When exactly did the Batman vs. 3 Villains of Doom come out? " Batman vs. 3 Villains of Doom " and " Batman vs. the Fearsome Foursome " (the 1966 movie novelization) came out in August 1966. Both bought by me within minutes of the drug store clerk putting them on the paperback s...

Re: July 23rd is Batman's 75th Birthday

I'd love to know how they came up with the date-- Batman was first published in May 1939 which means it was likely on stands around March of that year. Warner/DC intentionally "fudged" the date so that it would coincide with the first day of SDCC, and could be tied into that weekend's pub...

Re: Aunt Harriet away from Wayne Manor

I read that she was offered the part of Aunt Bea on Andy Griffith -- she was the go to gal for that sort of part in the early to mid 60's. But she was too busy, so she recommended her friend Frances Bavier. Yes, but no. Madge was initially approached to play 'Henrietta Perkins' in THE DANNY THOMAS ...

Was he the guy with the red hair who slinks in his seat when Batman starts describing him to a T?
