Re: Superman '78

I have fond memories of my mom taking me to see it. She had a hard purse that I sat on like a booster seat. Still the best Superman movie ever. I think so too. There were just so many things in that movie that, at the time were so cool. The iconic movie soundtrack still has legs today. You hear tho...

Re: Roy Clark Passes Away at 85

First Stan the Man' Lee, than Katherine MacGregor - the infamous Mrs. Olsen from Little House on the Prairie, was announced passing on this morning and then almost immediately afterwards Roy Clark left us. This has been a sad week for those of us who remember them with fondness, especially from the ...

Re: 13 QUICK THOUGHTS: The Kitschy Kick of FILMATION BATMAN

I love Filmation. I just finished reading an article about the Groovie Goolies in the latest Retro Fan magazine. It was interesting as I discovered that Filmation never put out any of their soundtracks or background music to their various series. Apparently the closest they came was around 1975/1976...

Re: 1973 Saturday morning poll, pt. 1

I have to say even though I picked one per time slot I was guilty of getting yelled at for sitting too close to the TV. I'm sure many of us remember TVs didn't have remotes back then so sitting near the TV enabled us to switch between boring parts or commercials. Having said that, during rerun seaso...

Re: The Greatest BATMAN Costume a Kid Could Have

I had the same costume as John with the cloth cowl and domino mask. I loved it and wore it a lot way past Halloween.

Re: New 2018 HALLMARK BATMAN ORNAMENTS!

I just returned from my Hallmark store here in Canada's capital, Ottawa. I now have the Santa Batman on rooftop, the 1966 Batcycle, and the Riddler. They are absolutely perfect. The asst. manager told me all 3 are selling like hotcakes all over the city with stores calling each other to see if any s...

Thank you, sir. I will endeavor to have a look at my local WallyWorld. Wonder if I can get a sports coat made with it? 8-)

Really nice job, Keith. I love the material. Where did you get it? For the record, I have the same pillow that's in the background.

Joker Movie Reveal

A clip has been released of Joaquin Phoenix as the Joker. I put this in Off Topic Lounge as it just doesn't seem a real Batman movie item to me. Just more of Warners throwing at the wall. In any event, draw your own conclusions. http://www.superherohype.com/news/421991-first-look-joaquin-phoenix-in-...

Re: THE JOKER Looms Large on Final ARCHIE/BATMAN '66 #5 Cover

And I'm not even sure what the point of these stories are. I understand meeting the Scooby Doo gang as they solve crime mysteries. But can anyone tell us why Batman got involved with these characters? Sure. DiDio, Lee, and Johns are desperate as Diamond's sales figures continue to show DC Comics lo...

Re: Wayne Family Crest patch...

That crest is beautiful and, being British-based, is very similar to the crest of my old Canadian military regiment.

As for ascots, we also wore them in the regiment. Ascots - brought to you by Bruce Wayne and Fred of Scooby-Doo from Back In The Age of Cool! 8-)

All these covers only reaffirm to me how glad I am that I gave up on DC and their now god-awful products called '"comic books".

Re: Hnery Cavill Is Out As Superman

I'm still not convinced Cavill's done, but I will say all the guesswork and rumor makes for the most media excitement the DCEU has generated in a long time. Maybe they should just skip actually making movies and concentrate on generating casting rumors and leaks. SprangFan, that's hilarious!
