Re: Dual identity question ???

I agree the whole "origin" thing is overdone and a major drag. I much preferred the days when heroes had an air of mystery to them, and we were thrown into their lives (and they ours) in mid-stream, leaving us to try and fill in the gaps (if we even wanted to). This was once SOP in Westerns, war fil...

Re: To AndyFish, what is Hot Toy's progress on 1966 Batman?

That "prototype" is actually a fan-made custom that showed up on the old boards a few years ago. Here is the link:

I remember because I drooled over it and wanted it badly.

Re: Batman & The Addams Family

No kidding; Klink's cameo should disturb anyone. Batman tells him to say hi to Colonel Hogan, who's apparently still being held in Stalag 13 a full two decades after Germany's surrender!

Re: Batman Artwork

Very nice artwork. Although I think Commissioner Gordon is portrayed a little too sternly.
That's because all those criminals are running around loose! And Joker is littering right in front of him!

Re: New Re: New Batman and Catwoman Barbie

I predict this costume is going to end up on a lot of other 12-inch figures with far better sculpting (Captain Action, GI Joe, Action Man, etc), and naked Ken is going to be shoved into most collectors' "spare parts" boxes. That said, it is kind of cool...in a weird sort of way...that they made Ken ...

Re: No HOT TOYS REVEAL

I liked the Bond figures, too, and was sorry to see the line die off. For years now it's seemed to me that Sideshow's stopped making 12-inch figures in favor of selling Hot Toys' work through their site, but recently I think they put out a Boba Fett...or something...so maybe they're still in the game.

Re: No HOT TOYS REVEAL

It always seems to take Hot Toys a lot longer to get their stuff ready. But at this stage it doesn't seem to hurt them any; everyone knows its coming, everyone knows it'll be good. Already people are saying "I'll wait for the Hot Toys figures," and if those folks could put in a preorder on a figure ...

Re: Batgirl figures & merchandise

In that costume, the only part of Yvonne that shows is her jaw and eyes, and the sculpts aren't all that close to the actors' likenesses anyway. I say go ahead and do a figure that gets the costume right but is deliberately "off" on the likeness, and if they're worried about Yvonne's lawyers, call i...

Re: Which Mr. Freeze should Mattel use?

Which one SHOULD they use? Probably Otto, whose look is more distinctive and in line with the vibe of the show, in general. That look would sell best for them. But if you ask which do I WANT them to use, it'd be Sanders. The problem from a sales-appeal standpoint is that he risks looking like a "gen...

Re: Batgirl figures & merchandise

I agree; my funds will be stretched thin, so unless "Duo" Batman is very different from the single-packed version, I'll buy him with Robin and skip the solo fig. (One possible difference could be the hands; they may have to shape them a special way to work with the bat-rope). Definitely getting that...

Re: First pics from the NY Toy Show 2013!!!

Lots of nice, sharp photos in this gallery for those of us who never tire of looking: http://www.actionfigureinsider.com/gallery2/album/TF2013-Mattel-Batman-1966/index.php?page=1 I like how the windows on the "climbing wall" actually open, so you can stage your own "guest cameos" by other 6-inch fig...

Re: Batgirl figures & merchandise

I'm not convinced the general public considers Batgirl one of the "core characters" of the show. I imagine they'll get around to her in time, but there are other characters most people think of first when you say "60s Batman," and they'll want those out ASAP. Another thing to consider, at least with...

Re: First Time You Saw the Show and How Did You Feel?

Well I was too young to have watched originally, having been born in spring of '65, but I first "met" Batman through tie-in merchandise owned by my friends' older brothers, like the Topps cards and the Remco Batmobile dashboard toy. When I was in grade school (maybe 3rd grade) I saw the '66 movie on...

Re: What's the general buzz regarding the 1966 toys?

I don't know about the "general public" (or whether they even have opinions on ANY toys), but what I'm seeing on the toy and comics boards is very enthusiastic and positive. So toy fans "in general" are excited, and saying they're going to buy the stuff. At least the Mattel stuff.
