Re: John Astin appears on the Gilbert Gottfried podcast!

Sigh. I have tried to contact him through his university to get him on our podcast, but never got an answer. Guess I'll have to settle for a listen to this instead!

An amusing item about the production from November 1967:
December 14?? Seems to have been written before they swapped the Eartha episodes and ran "Catwoman's Dressed to Kill" on that date!

Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #105: Fifty Ways to Wreck the Joker

High C alerted me to the production error in this episode, and I've just uploaded a corrected version! If you delete and re-download the podcast, you should be good. Sorry for the messup!

TO THE BATPOLES podcast #105: Fifty Ways to Wreck the Joker

http://deconstructingcomics.com/Batpoles/funnyfelinefelonies.jpg In the Funny Feline Felonies, Joker fakes getting kidnapped by Catwoman, only to then let her lead him around by the nose. He seems more childish than evil. What's wrong with season three Joker? That's one issue on our minds as we go ...

Excellent question. Maybe it existed only in his head.
It certainly didn't exist on the screen!

Re: SCRIPT: THE FUNNY FELINE FELONIES

Great catch. I have to admit, maybe I'm still too naive at age 54, but I missed it. Of course, he later mentioned LSD in the treatment, so I should've figured it out. I totally missed "Hero-in" there too. In a similar vein, he has a line in the treatment in which Catwoman says, 'the only way I'll e...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #104: Batman Returns ...and Kyle appears

If Burton did a Peanuts movie, Charlie Brown would murder Lucy with a giant football and Snoopy would be a half-human, half-dog vowing revenge on Charlie for making him the mutant freak that he is. Hard pass. You tempt me to create a thread in "Off-Topic" in which Burton remakes of other famous pro...

TO THE BATPOLES podcast #104: Batman Returns ...and Kyle appears

http://deconstructingcomics.com/Batpoles/batmanreturns.jpg You might say that the latest episode of TO THE BATPOLES is the 180-degree opposite of the previous one -- from academic thought about interpretations of the Batman character, we swing to a review of the 1992 film "Batman Returns" and a lot...

Re: BATMAN to be Celebrated at International Conference

Is anyone else going to this? I'm considering going, but I'm pinching pennies and I'm trying to avoid having to rent a car. Thinking if anyone is going to be driving in from Toledo or maybe other, larger cities, maybe a Bat-carpool might be possible.

TO THE BATPOLES podcast #102: Egghead & Olga: A Strange Way to Run a Three-Parter

http://deconstructingcomics.com/Batpoles/ogg3parter.jpg In what we promise will be our last Egghead and Olga episode (maybe), we dig into the script for the original three-part version of their third-season story featuring Vincent Price and Anne Baxter. Because of an apparent aversion to running a ...
