Re: Batcharge Launcher/Batzooka

Thanks, Ben, I have seen that one. I don't know how/have the technology to do screen grabs from my bluray of the movie, or from when it appeared on the series (I don't think there was a hose attached when it was on the show, actually) to get my own still reference. Yup, Batrunner, they built the bat...

Batcharge Launcher/Batzooka

Howdy, all. Well, I finally scored a Mattel Agent Zero M Sonic Blaster off ebay with which to make my Batcharge Launcher/Batzooka replica! (And I got a really good price - hooray!) But I can't find any good reference pics of the prop in which the back can be seen, so I can see how to attach the silv...

Re: Adam, Burt and Julie at Frank and Son

It says on the website what the costs are. Perhaps that has been posted since you last viewed it.

$80 for Adam's signature on an 8x10, $100 anything else signed, photo op Adam and Burt $99, photo op with all three $129.

Burt is $20 less for autographs. Julie is $20 less than Burt.

Re: Diamond Unveils Shakespeare Bust at NY Toy Fair

Yes, that bottom one always struck me as what they modeled theirs after. As you say, especially the base, but even the folds in the collar and the upturned corners of the mustache are similar.

Re: Diamond Unveils Shakespeare Bust at NY Toy Fair

I've always wondered, too, if it was a found object and re-tooled for the show, or if it was created from scratch. So many of the show props look like they were one-day builds - and often built around something off the rack. Sculpting, molding, casting, and painting the Shakespeare bust would have b...

Re: Diamond Unveils Shakespeare Bust at NY Toy Fair

As I went searching for a more accurate release date for the Shakespeare bust (couldn't find one - "autumnish" is the best I could do), I came across THIS, which explains a lot to me. It was not sculpted - it was 3D printed. To me, that is why the piece lacks personality. Gimme someone ski...

Re: The Tale of 2 Bat Radios

Do you guys think it's safe to say that the one with the "strap" was used in the movie, and the other was used on the show? -Jeremy I wouldn't claim such a distinction without checking every appearance of the Bat Radios used during the course of the show. Although, somebody may have alrea...

Re: Diamond Unveils Shakespeare Bust at NY Toy Fair

I was determined to find a better pic of the Shakespeare bust, and I finally found an alternate view of it on the Diamond Select Facebook page. 66shakesbust1.jpg I have to say, if this picture is truer to its real color, that's MUCH better than the yellowy gold color depicted on the 13thdimension we...

Re: Diamond Unveils Shakespeare Bust at NY Toy Fair

Why, oh, why are these Shakespeare busts always so off model? At $65, we've never had anything at this price point worth having, so I'm almost sure to buy it, but, gee whiz, with all the talented sculptors at Diamond Select's disposal, WHY? It's like the Diamond Select guys looked at that old fan-ma...

Re: How Did They Design the Batfights

For what it's worth, in one of the many videotaped interviews with Adam (sorry, I can't remember which one - maybe it was the PBS Pioneers of Television series? An extra on the Bluray?) he says he was part of the fight choreography process, in conjunction with Hubie.

Re: Sticking Those Chest Emblems

Gosh, no way I would recommend putting an emblem on tights in advance - the tights will stretch WAY too much when you put them on. You shouldn't put on an emblem until you're wearing the tights, so they're fully stretched.

Re: Super-powered Batmagnet Prop Replica

Thanks, all. If I hadn't been on a deadline, there are lots of things I would have done differently. Making it all from scratch proved to be a bigger challenge than expected. Of course, they probably built it all on an existing prop gun, so they were already halfway there! I didn't have that advanta...

Re: Sticking Those Chest Emblems

I think the idea of creating a fabric paint area for the emblem is great, but have a question: what kind of paint would be flexible enough to go on a leotard that gets stretched so much? I'm not being a contrarian, I'm really asking that question. What would be flexible enough? I have no experience ...

Super-powered Batmagnet Prop Replica

Hello, all. I just wanted to share with you my most recent hand-made prop replica. I have always thought this prop was very amusing, and was always a little surprised it only appeared once. It's the Super-powered Batmagnet from the Bookworm episode "While Gotham City Burns," which is Part ...
