Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #88: Holy hyperbole! It's Burt Ward's book!

Thanks for the shout-out, guys! Wish I could have joined you in the discussion as a guest, but with your long distance situation, I can understand why you’d want to keep the show as a duo. Wanted to get a chance to say that even though Ward seems to exaggerate his stories and brag about his status a...

Re: "Boy Wonder: My Life in Tights"

Love how in this interview he’s talking about “moral responsibility” while selling a book that’s about explicit material. Sure there’s a disclaimer that the book is for adults, but that audience is people who were children when the show was first on and that is gonna have an effect on them and how t...

Re: "Boy Wonder: My Life in Tights"

I'm not as up on these things as some here, so if anyone can share the real story, or a link, I'd be most appreciative. I couldn't imagine they would actually film something as dangerous as what was suggested. From Joel Eisner: “There are however a number of myths about this episode that were sprea...

Re: "Boy Wonder: My Life in Tights"

And probably got more and more outlandish with each telling! Definitely how tall tales come to be, including the infamous tiger pit story. In the last interview I heard with Ward, the interviewer was good at asking him about the accident that happened on the Otto Preminger Mr. Freeze episode, but W...

Re: "Boy Wonder: My Life in Tights"

It's a lot harder to tell who's in the car in the stock footage than it is to tell whether Burt or Victor is in any particular Batfight shot! It was always clear as day to me it was Paul in those shots with his thinner hairline and bigger nose. Also, Ward had to add the detail that they made him fi...

Re: "Boy Wonder: My Life in Tights"

But aside from that, as far as information he gives about the show, what can I believe? I'm certain that some of it is exaggerated, to say the least. I always felt irritated that Ward made it seem that his stunt double, Victor Paul, hardly did his job. Even before the series came out on Blu-ray, yo...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #85: "Batman '89" Turns our Heads

Keaton, Kilmer and Clooney wore a suit but Adam West WAS Batman. A more accurate statement would be Keaton, Kilmer and Clooney wore a suit but Adam West WAS “MY” Batman. You can’t overlook that all of those actors PLAYED Batman and not one of them was overall definitive. It’s a claim no one will ac...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #85: "Batman '89" Turns our Heads

As was pointed out in the podcast, anyone could have been in that suit. Same can be said for Adam West’s Batman. Remember the screen tests with Lyle Waggoner where he was wearing the same costume, saying the same dialogue but gave a totally different performance from West? Would Superman: The Movie...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #85: "Batman '89" Turns our Heads

Wish I knew this episode was coming. Would have loved to have chimed in with you guys and discuss this film, which is my favorite of all time. I’m always interested in hearing differing opinions on it, since I was born the same year it came out and the combination of this with the 60’s show shaped m...

Batgirl Costume Comics Colors

Can anyone do a PhotoShop of Batgirl in her costume reflecting the colors of the costume from the comics of black, blue and yellow?

Re: Long Burt Ward Interview at Comic Book Central

I got to give the interviewer credit for citing the specific accident that happened on camera during the Mr. Freeze episodes where he had to have his arm wrapped and his cape covering his arm. Ward completely glossed over that and jumped into the familiar story about the pilot. Victor Paul is clearl...

Re: Long Burt Ward Interview at Comic Book Central

Right, but those were movies and they didn't expect people to freeze frame and analyze who did what. The time has come it was pretty obvious even before the Blu-rays that Paul did his fair share of work on the show and wasn't just "having coffeee with Adam." Then again, at a weekly paychec...

Re: Long Burt Ward Interview at Comic Book Central

I've really hated how Ward has tried to take credit for stunts Victor Paul performed. He definitely got hurt with the sparks from the Mr. Freeze episodes, but still he's taken a lot of credit when it's due for others.

Re: Riddler Question Marks Applied to Suit

I think I'll be able to apply the marks with a fabric marker. I'll need a HQ version of the Riddler's question mark in order to make a stencil out of. Can anyone prove one?
