Re: Woodbridge Comic Book Festival, Woodbridge NJ

Ironically, I drove past Parker Press today, but had no idea what was going on there. If I had known, I would have stopped by.

Re: Batman TV series DVD set in 2014!!

I'd bet Combo pack as well-- DVDs are going the way of the Dodo bird. I don't care how much the set is-- I'm buying it, I'm buying it new, I'm buying it the day it comes out. This is my favorite show of all time, and the COLOR alone screams out for a legit no longer slightly washy bootleg. No matte...

Re: The Latest Batman Item You Acquired?

I can't say its a new item, because its the 3rd one I have bought. Every time I see it at a flea market I have to buy it because it was one of my favorite things as a kid. I love the Power Records Batman recordings. Great Neal Adams artwork! Plus my 11 year old self learned what a "frontal lob...

Re: Would you have been a Bat-fan if the series had never ai

I have thinking about this one for the past few days and would have to conclude that the absence of the 66 series from my childhood probably would have steered me clear from Batman and all comic book heroes. As I was a toddler when the show appeared, my first exposure to Batman was certainly from th...

Re: I would love your advise and or talent

Looks like we'll need another stand! From NECA's Toy Fair Press Release: "One of the most talked-about figures of 2013 was NECA’s limited edition 1/4 Scale 1966 BATMAN, the first ever to feature the likeness of Adam West from the beloved television series, and an instant sellout in stores. This...

WABC-TV 4:30 Movie Batman Promo (Link)

Those of us who grew up in the NY area have fond memories of the 4:30 Movie on WABC, channel 7. Here is an original 1978 promo for the 1966 Batman movie with voiceover from legendary announcer Scott Vincent. It utilizes footage from the original movie trailer. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PTW2u9PR...

You could run these along with the upcoming Superman set and recreate the Batman-Superman Hour!

Re: Buy war bonds with Batman!

Wow! It is interesting, even a little unnerving to hear Batman mention Vietnam. I guess it's a reminder of how disconnected 60s television was to the real world, something it would not catch up to until relevance became a buzz word a few years later. Great find, Ralph!

Re: The Latest Batman Item You Acquired?

It appears they saved the yellow adlib font for the Table of Contents! The '66 Batman that will reprint the new series is slated for April 8 hardcover release. Amazon used the cover art from the TV Stories collection in the listing for the '66 book, too. I'm looking forward to it, as well as the '66...

Re: 1968 Cartoon- What's taking so long!?!?!?!?

If I recall correctly, all of the Filmation/DC product rights reverted to DC. This is why they were combined with Super Friends elements to form a Superman/Batman Adventures package that aired on USA in the early 90s and later Cartoon Network and Boomerang. Similarly, Shazam! is controlled by Warner...

Re: 1968 Cartoon- What's taking so long!?!?!?!?

The 1968 Batman, the second season of Superman, and the Superboy cartoons have not been released commercially yet, although someone snuck in a bumper for the Superboy cartoons on the first Superman set. As for the condition of the masters, it appears that in the 90s when the Batman cartoons were edi...
