Thanks for sharing. I have fond memories of seeing the first two Christopher Reeve movies in the theatre.
Just because we're Batman fans doesn't mean we aren't Superman fans, too. After all, if Superman hadn't been so successful when he debuted, there probably wouldn't be a Batman.

Re: BAT 77 Podcast - Asylum of the Futurians (Batman #229)
Sorry to take so long to comment. I'm not surprised that Barr wrote a letter praising this story. Barr wrote a text piece for my favorite treasury, Batman's Strangest Cases. There he highlighted "Other Strange Cases of the Batman" and this is one of the issues he mentioned. He made the sto...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #134: What’s My Crime? Bob Dozier’s Joker Drafts
In the "Joker's Utility Belt" comic, the Joker has a conveyor belt that leads into a giant Joker face, and the Joker mouth is a furnace. His utility belt is also red in the comic, which may be where that bit came from. Joker managing to take off Batman's belt and replace it with another b...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #134: What’s My Crime? Bob Dozier’s Joker Drafts
Thanks for the show and for posting the scripts. I always enjoying reading them and seeing what changed before filming. The Joker's Utility Belt was reprinted in Batman 176, which had a December 1965 cover date. According to comics.org, the on-sale date was October 7, 1965. Dick Sprang was the artis...

Hope this isn't against forum rules, but the cover with the masked Julie is an exclusive available at J. Scott Campbell's website. Just an FYI, before anyone pays three prices for it on eBay.

Re: BAT 77 Podcast - The House That Haunted Batman (Detective #408) w/Ken Holtzhouser
I think the jarring shift in tone was probably due to the fact that Wolfman & Wein wrote this early in their careers, when they were still learning how to write comics. Not to say the story isn't entertaining, it just isn't among either writers' best works. I wonder how they co-wrote it...If one...

Re: The Latest Batman Item You've Acquired?
A couple of more comics that came in this week. I did these as an additional post so it can be deleted if these aren't considered Batman items. Lois Lane 14 January 1960 Cover pencils by Curt Swan, inks by Stan Kaye - Batman's picture is on the cover but he doesn't appear in the issue. I knew that w...

Batman issues that I have added to my collection this week. This pushes my consecutive issue run of Batman back to 124. I have the Pizza Hut reprints of 122 & 123, so I won't be buying the originals of those. Batman 120 December 1958 Cover pencils by Curt Swan, inks by Stan Kaye Batman 130 March...

Re: Batman Ratings
Thanks for the work that has gone into this thread.
I'm surprised Batman's ratings had dropped to this point. I didn't think any of the later first season episodes weren't entertaining.

Re: The New Batman '66 Book is HERE!
Thanks for the heads-up, Jim. I have ordered mine, after listening to your discussion with Chris over at Fire and Water. I wasn't expecting the books not to be critical at some point. There isn't any show that doesn't have its bad episodes. Even if some of the book is critical of episodes that I enj...

Batman Black and White Doug Mahnke statue - I'm an old school guy and am not familiar with a lot of newer artist. I just liked the action pose and the way Batman's cape is flying out behind him. It is a nice statue. Detective 264 Cover pencils by Curt Swan, inks by Stan Kaye. I shouldn't have bought...

Re: BAT 77 Podcast - The Demon of Gothos Mansion (Batman #227)
Unfortunately, I didn't get Batman from the 30s to the 70s until the early 2000s. I never found a copy back in the 70s, but I grew up in a pretty rural area. As to why I didn't just order one from a comic book ad...your guess is as good as mine. I didn't start getting stuff through mail order until ...
