Re: TO THE BATPOLES #118: "Flash Gordon": Lorenzo Goes to Space Camp
Your mentioning of "Sheena" and how Semple's script was a dud, gets back to a basic flaw of him that even existed in his "Batman" days. When it came to writing female characters, Semple really didn't have a good grasp of them compared to other writers. That also showed big time i...

Re: Delightful trailer for a Batman '66 version of "The Dark Knight Rises"
About the only flaw is that some of the source material used is in a PAL format so that the music and voices in a number of clips are pitched up. Otherwise, great stuff! I saw a similar thing that did a trailer for the Daniel Craig "Casino Royale" in the style of the 1960s spoof "Casi...

Re: The Lambeth Walk
A popular mid-80s Broadway musical "Me And My Girl" revived the whole Lambeth Walk thing which was where I first became familiar with it.

Re: Third Season Queries and What Ifs
I got the sense that Frank knew he had to come back once in the wake of being replaced by John Astin that he needed to re-establish himself as THE Riddler. Even as he was absent from the show in S2 working Vegas etc. and arguing with Dozier over the money, he still liked to bask in the stature of be...

Kallman had starred in his own show "Hank" several years before that lasted just a season.

Re: "Fine Finny Fiends"....Changes From Script To Production
You're welcome! I admit I like this episode because the plot is pretty good (though the explanation for getting out of the trap is weak) and Julie Gregg's performance is a great acting job since she's playing something she wasn't at all.

Bumping this thread since I finished scanning my copy of the script. This way everyone else can study the changes from script to production.

And remember, Joan Collins was publicly considered for the role of Cleopatra once upon a time. :) The original treatment reveals that the rumor that the Lisa character was supposed to be Mayor Linseed's daughter initially isn't true. From the very beginning the character is described as the daughter...

Presumably Hoyt Curtain who did most everything for Hanna-Barbera though that's not a given.
"Danger Island" also included Frank Aletter, who at the time was married to Lee Meriwether and had previously been in the series "It's About Time."

A long, remarkable career for her and she has been a survivor. It is so hard to think of her to be the age she is now.

Re: Other Great 60s Shows...
The Golden Age of TV for me begins in 1955 with the debut of shows like "Gunsmoke" and "Alfred Hitchcock Presents" and represents part of a growing shift away from the live dramas of New York and more emergence of TV as a filmed storytelling medium. It's also when I start seeing ...
