Re: ABC Network Summer Reruns and Bumper Mystery

Terrific research, Bob. Thanks so much!

I was struck, as you were, by how many Season 1 eps were re-run in the summer of 1967. If that was ABC's call, it shows how much they felt the show was in decline in S2.

Re: Things you didn't notice or remember until seeing the DV

Bet with the decision to redress the Wayne Manor living room set was a factor not to use Madge Blake, other than a couple cameos in the season. You can't have her hanging around in the sacred study! Blake's health wasn't that great. In fact, she died less than a year after the show went off the air...

I love this pic. Thanks for sharing.

Julie looks like she's still in character even while she gets her hair and makeup touched up. Awesome!

Re: Things you didn't notice or remember until seeing the DV

I can't help wondering whether or not the producers were mined wardrobe and prop leftovers from Fox's 1963 "Cleopatra" epic to equip Tut and Co. One thing they did mine from "Cleopatra" is in the photograph of Tut's hideout that Robin and Alfred see on the Bat Computer. That's a...

Re: Eartha Kitt as Catwoman

The conventional wisdom has always been that she was unavailable for season three due to her work on Mackenna's Gold. This is also the reason Julie herself has given for years. Fans have long speculated that there may have been other personal factors involved- such as a dispute over salary or a fee...

That's all well and good but the point is that it is not Batman 'canon.'

Re: Jack Barry and Batman

I know that was Jack Barry the quiz show host in the pilot cameo. However, I'm still wondering if the Assistant Director was also the same Jack Barry. Next time Adam and Burt are in town I'll have to ask them. With all due respect, I think epaddon already answered your question quite thoroughly. It...

'The Entrancing Dr. Cassandra." Nothing entrancing about her. She doesn't hypnotize people, so the title makes little sense.

Re: BATMAN: Season 3 - which was best?

I, of course, vote for Wail of The Siren as the best episode of season 3. I'll first let epaddon explain one major reason why. #1-Joan Collins' Siren is the only villain, male or female in the entire series who has a genuine *superpower* ability of some kind. This is a trait we take for granted so m...

Re: Mary Ann Mobley R.I.P.

Very sad news. Here's a story about it. She was 75, according to this: http://www.clarionledger.com/story/news/2014/12/09/mary-ann-mobley-dies/20163687/ No offense to Yvonne, but I believe Mobley would have been a better choice. As epaddon said in a thread on the old board six years ago, Mobley woul...

She was more a co-villainess than even FF's moll. Complete partnership and a keystone holding FF's entire operation together. Hands down.
I agree with you. As portrayed by Myrna Fahey, Blaze had legitimate villainess potential.

And she did her job quite well.
