Re: Why the batman needs a cape?

And why does Robin have a cape? And a rather small, fairly useless one at that. Wouldn't that go with his having been an acrobat? Plus it's shorter because he was younger - like when boys in olden days wore shorts instead of long pants (remember the old saying "I knew you since you were in kne...

Re: Batkid: Batman for a day

Brings a little Bat-tear to the eye, don't it?
I must admit that if I were in the same position when I was that kid's age, I probably would have wanted to spend my day either as Robin or with the Riddler (since he always seemed to be having a lot more fun than Batman!)

Re: The ME-TV BATMAN Episode Discussion Thread

And the other henchman, Tim O'Kelly, went on become one of the screen's scariest villains, the sniper in the 1968 movie Targets (his last words in the film will leave you stunned). Sadly his career never quite took off (he had the Danno role in the Hawaii Five-O pilot, but lost it after not scoring ...

Re: The ME-TV BATMAN Episode Discussion Thread

I would guess that that the two henchmen who were also "converted" by the falling flower pots also "recovered" like King Tut did at the end; although it might have made more sense if Victor were hit first, then the other two. Notice that when they get hit the soundtrack plays the...

Re: R.I.P. Paul Mantee, Guest Bat-Actor, 82

I'd forgotten that two of the cast members of Robinson Crusoe on Mars went on to play Batman - could be a very sneaky trivia question! Paul must have been bigger in the waist than Adam; looks like the suit just barely fit him...

Re: John Astin May Have Noot Been Good As The Riddler, But .

The ONLY thing I've ever seen Mr. Astin do that I didn't think was wonderful was his performance as the Riddler.
Guess you've never seen a 98-cent disaster called Pepper and his Wacky Taxi. Be thankful.

Re: can the actors wear the costumes now?

In the same vein, I've noticed that on Family Guy, Batman has been depicted in the cutaway bits once in a while. Even though Adam is on the show he doesn't voice Batman - legal issue?

Julie as the devil on Twilight Zone: early Catwoman?

The other night I watched the 1963 Twilight Zone episode "Of Late I Think of Cliffordville" for the first time, and I was very surprised by Julie Newmar's performance as a female version of the devil (aka Miss Devlin) - it was amazingly like the persona she used playing Catwoman (and the l...

DO NOT GO TO THAT SITE - IT'S BEEN HACKED. I got a popup from some outfit with a Romanian address talking about "monetizing your website" which would not let me close the page. I know damn well not to click on such a thing so I did a shutdown and restart. So far so good. I did a screensho...

Re: Surf's Up Episode

I wonder if this episode would have worked better as a two-parter, (part 1 "Surf's Up"/part 2, "Joker's Under") with the human surfboards part as the cliffhanger? Watching it now, it seems pretty chopped up, and the page on the Batgirl link shows that a lot was cut from the scrip...

Re: The ME-TV BATMAN Episode Discussion Thread

First of all, though, did anyone else have the sound drop out once or twice, or was it just because I was picking it up with an antenna? Yes. It happened to me and I have it on cable (and recorded it before watching). Loved Julie and her saucer of milk at Wayne Manor. LOL Although she spilled it a ...
