Re: Batman comic book cover gallery
Man, that plastic bag is awesome! Personal collection? For the record; About 15 years ago I lost everything I owned in a flood. Hundreds of original LPs, comic books, artwork, baseball cards, etc. I made peace with that much loss and never really attempted to replace much of it. It would be a combin...

Re: Is the Tim Burton Batman on it's Way to Being Forgotten
Actually, that was me who wrote that about digging Beware The Batman. I love the return to his detective roots. If I had to pick one thing that may not have helped it, I'd say it's probably a bit more mature for kids e. g. more cerebral and dialogue-driven. The push-back on it seemed to ramp-up in t...

Re: The Latest Batman Item You've Acquired?
That's a pretty good looking T-shirt! The Batman portion of the official DC site has some really fantastic shirts. Tons of great shirts from the 60s and 70s. Since I'm seldom in anything other that an Astros shirt or Batman shirt, I'm a frequent visitor. http://www.shopdcentertainment.com/category/...

Re: Batman comic book cover gallery
Love this cover by Neal Adams. Great visual dynamic with the cops trying to get Batman on a rainy night. Great story too as most of it takes place on that same rainy night.

Re: Is the Tim Burton Batman on it's Way to Being Forgotten
@ Progress; It's almost certainly a break. I couldn't find a screen-grab of the actual scene, where it's a bit further back. To me, in the film they looked even more silly. No doubt the fights are well choreographed and shot. There are plenty of things in all three Nolan films that I like, just not ...

Re: Is the Tim Burton Batman on it's Way to Being Forgotten
...we got the "James Bond globe trotting" with the Nolan films and somehow it only reinforced how ridiculous the concept of a "Batman" really is, in anything close to "the real world." At least every nook and cranny of Burton's world is designed to remind us "this...

Re: Batman comic book cover gallery
I agree, that 223 cover is awesome. That Detective 403 is one of the more strange I've ever seen. Cool looking though.

Re: Is the Tim Burton Batman on it's Way to Being Forgotten
I thinks it's fairly safe to say the biggest fans of the '89 Batman movie are fans of Tim Burton in general. There are some very nice touches in the film, but it could have been and should have been so much better. Burton may be a "visionary", but it's not a vision that all Batfans share....

Re: Is the Tim Burton Batman on it's Way to Being Forgotten
No doubt that's what has helped lead to the film's second built-in advantage- the degree to which it influenced and shaped subsequent Bat incarnations. I'm not referring to the Nolan films, but everything from the animated series to the Arkham Asylum video games. For anyone who loves the darker ton...

Re: All TWELVE Batman films ranked 12th to first
Might as well throw my hat into the ring with a visual companion to my earlier rankings. I'm a big fan of the various comic book versions through the years, the graphic novels, some of the films and a couple of the animated series. I have no problem what so ever with the character evolving during th...

Re: Is the Tim Burton Batman on it's Way to Being Forgotten
No chance of it being forgotten with me, as it's one of the only two I own or care to watch. I'm a Batman nerd since the 1960s TV show, my introduction to the character. I'll let my post in another thread explain my views on what & who represent Batman to me. http://www.66batman.com/forums/view...

Re: All TWELVE Batman films ranked 12th to first
My list is much shorter because I don't rank movies I disliked or can hardly remember. I'll stay with this: Batman 1966 Batman 1989 Those are the only two I own or watch. I've seen all since, but don't care to revisit. Below is my personal rankings of Batman actors. It may help explain why my list i...

Re: Batman comic book cover gallery
As simple as this one is, it's an absolute must include solely for the Droste Effect, not to mention how hard that would be to pull off in 1941. They did a fantastic job.
