Re: Joe Giella, Batman Comic Inker RIP

On to a happier place, Mr. Giella. He's one of those talents who walked the border between known and unknown; he left an unforgettable mark on many a 60s DC comic (with notable inking duties for Infantino and Kane), and was credited, yet he was never held up as one of the "star" inkers in ...

Re: JazzInc poll for next 1966 Bat vehicle

They're thinking of a 1/6 scale Batcave? That would quite expensive--and impractical for anyone living in the average house or apartment.

The Batcopter would be my pick, as its the overall best-looking Bat-vehicle after the Batmobile.

Re: New Green Hornet toys

New Kato action figure out but no news if they will make a Green Hornet. Maybe they're waiting to see how well Kato sells. I would think anyone who buys a Kato would want a Green Hornet. I'm one of the fans who would want a Green Hornet in this scale. Everyone knows about the popularity of Lee, but...

Thanks for posting the GH part of the mini-comic!

Re: Antique Store Haul

Great find! I don't believe i've ever seen any of the Playing Mantis / Captain Action figures or uniforms in an antique store. I hope it was not too expensive. The uniform set addressed some fan desires for a more TV version Green Hornet, despite the fact the 1998 Green Hornet mask was an accurate c...

Re: Bat Tours: The Bat-Roads

Thanks for the effort to locate the Bat-Roads, guys. Over the decades, I visited Bronson caves (knowing it was the Batcave entrance / exit), and Griffith Observatory, but I never dreamed the roads used on the series were just around that hill. Crazy.

Re: TO THE BATPOLES #201: Chip Kidd’s Book of Bat-Merch

Interesting show, guys. I find the idea of a Batman merchandising book not including the View-Master reels worthy of a mass jaw-dropping reaction. The reels were the most significant piece of merchandising based on the series, and was--for many fans--their only way to see the series in the pre-home ...

Same here, but when it comes to any vintage-based GH merchandise, we're lucky to get what's released.

Re: Mego 50th Anniversary-- The Return!

Mego is also doing Scarecrow for the 50th line. No word on Mr. Freeze yet but would be nice. Interesting. If they used the comic book Freeze as the template as seen below on this 1968 cover of Detective Comics #373: https://i.imgur.com/NZAI2wC.jpg I would be very interested in buying it. The '68 Fr...

The face sculpt is more than a bit off. If someone is going to sell at or above Hot Toys prices, they should match Hot Toys' level of accuracy.

Just sayin'.

Re: McFarlane Toys doing Batman 66 figures?

It is sad that McFarlane toys can get the Joker's face to match up with Cesar's, but Moebius, which is a larger model cannot. I'd love to see one of our members turn the Batboat into an R.C. item that could be run on a local lake, pond, or stream. 1/6 scale is the category where real actor likeness...

Re: Mannix 1968....around the outside of Wayne Manor

In the posted clip, that's William Smithers as the episode's main villain. He excelled at playing corrupt, manipulator types, as seen on Mannix , and in guest spots on Star Trek ( "Bread and Circuses" ) or The Mod Squad ( "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Starlet" ). Always great to watc...

Re: Who is THE expert on '66 bat-merch?

Thanks for all of the info, Ben. Apparently, likeness issues were not a problem for The Green Hornet , considering the wealth of merchandise produced bearing Williams and Lee's image (e.g., coloring books, view master reels, playing and trading cards, puzzles, comic books, etc.). The '66 Batman seri...

Re: Aurora Batman Repro Model Kit?

Here’s something else I think is possible - the example model might be unpainted where Batman’s bodysuit areas are. It seems to be the same color the kit was molded in…,hmmmm. Checking for faint signs of the original tooling….that’s awesome!!!! Sheet styrene! Yes! I’ve used it before. Didn’t think ...
