Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #64: Bat-Manga!

Actually, since we're on the topic, I need a little explanation of this Batmite show, especially the Scooby Doo segment. Is this an Adult Swim thing or something? How old is it? It's not Mystery Incorporated, but clearly wasn't made in the '70s either -- they're just pretending it was! (although tha...

TO THE BATPOLES podcast #70: Batgirl Comes to Gotham, Tim Goes to Laramie

http://deconstructingcomics.com/Batpoles/EnterBatgirl.jpg Our latest episode is essentially a double-feature! First, we discuss how the Barbara Gordon iteration of Batgirl was born, in the comics and on the screen, including the eight-minute "not for broadcast" pilot and the Season Three ...

Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #69: Remembering Adam West: Our Lives With Batman

Ben, yes, exactly. Several months on from his death, and after the outpouring of emotion at the time, it seemed more appropriate now to have a discussion about legacy -- his affect on individual lives and on the culture overall.

TO THE BATPOLES podcast #69: Remembering Adam West: Our Lives With Batman

http://deconstructingcomics.com/Batpoles/ourliveswithbatman.jpg In the wake of Adam West's not-so-recent passing, we felt compelled to do a "thanks for the memories, Adam" episode. But, well, every episode functions as that, so this time, we present the memories of many other bat-fans who...

Re: Stephen Kandel

No doubt there was a list of potential villains when the TV series was first being planned and the False Face name stuck out. Doesn't mean he researched the original comic character, just that the villain's name suggests the modus operandi. So still "based on" the name, if not the comic o...

Re: Stephen Kandel

That was amazing that Kandel didn't know there was a False Face in the comics until you told him! We'll have to correct all the people who have written that the TV False Face was based on the one in the comics!
