Re: Script: THAT DARNED CATWOMAN, featuring Poison Ivy
This was great. Thanks for unearthing and sharing it. The substitution of Pussycat for Ivy seems pretty much cosmetic. The character's dialog and Robin's banter with her are barely changed, and I think that's for the better. Making Ivy a second banana, largely stripped of her of her plant-powered pr...

Re: Batman laboratory scenes
In either Death in Slow Motion or The Riddler's False Notion, Batman mixes chemicals into a kind of truth-detection potion as part of a Batcave interrogation of Riddler moll Pauline.

Re: Mr.Freeze's Freeze Gun
Both replicas are awesome. I just rewatched the Sanders Mr. Freeze episodes, and I was thinking what a great prop the freeze gun was. I never noticed the "colored lights" (or whatever they are) in the "breach" area of the freeze gun. If you ever get the urge to deploy those fears...

Re: Bob Crane - Green Hornet theme - ME TV web site
Crane's GH theme reminds me more of the theme to Dozier's failed Dick Tracy pilot ("Dick Tracy -- He's a good cop!) than it does the Batman theme. IMHO, jazzing up The Flight of the Bumblebee was a witty idea (and Al Hirt's execution was great), but Crane's version is a little too much on the n...

Outstanding! I'd go to IKEA more often if Alfred were around to assemble everything.

Great point. I wasn't aware of the then-recent film.chrisbcritter wrote: ↑Mon Sep 04, 2017 8:51 pm The Tom Jones visual references - especially the chicken-eating - probably refer to the 1963 film more than the book it was based on.

Re: TO THE BATPOLES: Read "Shoot a Crooked Arrow" draft!
I'm pretty sure the Tom Jones SRR was referring to is the title character in the 18th-century novel by Henry Fielding —well-known to English majors but definitely more obscure than the playwright whose bust is in the Wayne study. I picked up a copy of the book at a library book sale but have never r...

Re: Yet another utility belt gadget question
I saw the original post on this and hoped others with more know-how would chime in. I have no experience making costumes or props, but it occurred to me that you could estimate the size of the hook from the screenshot below. If you know the height of the utility belt cylinders (as I'm sure others on...

Re: Need more info on this fact toothpaste poster.
I have no additional information, but the eBay auctions cited above aren't directly relevant to the question, which -- if I understand the OP correctly -- concerns a single uncut sheet consisting of both the Batman and Robin posters. I'd have to assume that's considerably rarer than either of the in...

From the supplied photos, I definitely think it's Portia Nelson. For comparison purposes, here's a roughly contemporary shot of Gypsy Rose Lee:

Re: General MacGruder
My take is that MacGruder is just supposed to be a random military bureaucrat. If they'd been trying to spoof MacArthur, I think they'd have cast someone lankier (Alan Reed isn't MacArthur's body type at all). I also think they'd have given a MacArthur parody a corncob pipe, and maybe aviator shades.

Re: TO THE BATPOLES podcast #66: This Joker Really Pops!
The Dynamic Duo is saved from electrical execution by a rolling blackout and they race to Police Headquarters. There they tell the Commissioner that the Batcave is unaffected by the blackout, thanks to anti-crime back-up power. But when we see them in the Batcave seconds later, Dozier narrates that...
