Re: Batman 3rd season - Dr Cassandra - released villians

They are indeed stunt doubles the entire time. That's one of the reasons the villains were invisible and then in the dark for the fight scene. It would be too noticeable. A shame really. But a good way to see the archvillains one last time before facing the horror of... a crooked spa owner. By the ...

Re: Batman at the Boxoffice

I thought what hurt the movie as well with all of the Batman films is there's not enough Batman appearing in his own movie. Too much spotlight on the villains, and as colorful as they were they're NOT even as close as interesting as the Cape Crusader. The movie felt very television, and I feel sorr...

Re: Rarest Green Hornet toy from 1966/67?

A.P., thank you posting those great images! That role play set before--I cannot image many surviving in complete condition. Interesting that Remco used Van Wliiams in his mask on the dashboard playset, box, but the Batman box sports an illustration, despite a box reference to Batman being on TV. Was...

That looks great! It is hard to believe that the long-coveted 1:18 Black Beauty may hit the market!

Re: Batman at the Boxoffice

There's another reason why actors will likely repeat these stories that aren't really true. They need them for the convention/interview/banquet circuit to earn their keep. Sounds like James "Scotty" Doohan and/or George "Sulu" Takei, and the decades each spent spinning and fabri...

Re: Batman at the Boxoffice

I don't have the full document but this internal memo from March 3, 1966 is quite interesting: That memo is incredible. $150,000? A second, non-Batman film starring Adam? While we might think the series leads were overstepping their actual value, it is not uncommon for stars (and their agents) to g...

Re: Meriwether, Romero, and West interview for Batman movie

And Dozier gave one of the most insensitive quotes of all time in reference to it in Joel Eisner's book: 'On Saturday, we all rode in an open car down the main street, but he [Whitman] was only interested in killing students, thank heaven.' That isn't true anyway. Whitman murdered numerous non-stud...

Re: The 4th Season NBC Myth

Interesting that the Penguin restaurant episode was the first produced for season two. Meredith being on-fire as always, plus an exiting cliffhanger should have launched the season, instead of...you know. That would kind of raise the question if the movie itself bore responsibility for the ratings d...

Re: The 4th Season NBC Myth

OP : great subject! What's interesting is that the articles all but predicting doom for Batman right out of the 2nd season gates, but if the ratings situation was that dire, it makes one wonder why Dozier bothered with the Green Hornet crossover (aired in March, 1967) at all, when one suffering ser...

Anyone game enough to post Blu-ray images of every Bat logo used on the show?

That is great! Thanks for posting it!

The layout strongly implies a 1960s origin, but do you have an exact date or source of publication?

Did you ever notice that Bruce's Great Grandfather's painting grew a mustache between season1 and season2? http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v123/apennyworth/batman/newDVDcaps/BruceGreatGrandfatherPainting.jpg~original Could it be the result of another production using it, and adding the mustache, ...

Re: BATMAN: Season 3 - which was best?

I watched it recently (still on a Bat-Leg, I'll be going legit after my car is fixed) - and I noticed the same melancholy romantic background music (from SEASON ONE) being played when Commissioner Gordon escorts Minerva to the paddy wagon. I thought that was a nice reference to (sigh) happier days ...
