Re: Which episodes are these photos from?

If the box on Gordon's desk could be ID'd, the two photos would be a snap. I don't think it's the box with the Joker's reel to reel tape machine from under the inflatable maharaja, but maybe it would get the ball rolling?

#1 Futura/Batmobile On The Auction Block?

In case you hadn't heard, it appears that the #1 screen-used Futura/Batmobile will be auctioned in Scottsdale, Arizona at Barrett-Jackson in mid-January. A relative of a friend on the 1966batmobile.com website confirmed it with the Barris staff at BKI customs yesterday. Posters are circulating about...

Re: Where Was Gotham?

I, too, as a kid thought the city was on the east coast, somewhere "near" New York. Bob Kane's selection of the name "Gotham City" is great fun, especially considering the nickname of NY is Gotham. Have any of you ever googled "Gotham" to see what you get? There are man...

Re: Fight Music

I really enjoyed the first season fight music as well. The only time the "real" fight scene music was used in third season was the King Tut fight in the Batcave. It was so refreshing to hear it again!

Re: Batman: The Movie's Success

We're on the same page, Batwinged Hornet. You made great points about the Riddle's music and the end fight scene. Despite its flaws I still love the movie. There are certainly many more good things to say about it than negative. I am not knocking parts of the movie for the sake of knocking it, but i...

Re: Batman: The Movie's Success

As far as why the movie wasn't a bigger success, I've read that Batmania was already waning by that point. In my opinion Semple and Martinson had already given up the more serious tone of first season to begin the downfall of the series (compare the riddles from first season to the "sparrow wit...

Re: Batman: The Movie's Success

The estimated budget, according to IMDB, was $1,377,800. I only found one reference in a quick search of the box office, claiming it made $13 million. This was a disappointing box office considering the expectations they had for the film, but the real purpose for the movie was to use it as a pilot t...

Re: Did FF Make 1966 Batmobile History Today?

It was a weird set of circumstances that allowed this photo op. I'm trying to set up another one next week before the cars separate, but the weather doesn't look like it's going to cooperate. The first car is my original Bat 1 car, the second one is heading to the east coast soon, another to Califor...

Re: Did FF Make 1966 Batmobile History Today?

It was such incredible fun. I kept looking in the rear camera on the LCD screen to see all those Batmobiles behind me! It was great!

Thanks so much for your kind comments about this historic occasion. Hobbybuilder, you are right--the last car is my original Bat 1 car, the one I built when I was seventeen!

Did FF Make 1966 Batmobile History Today?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've never EVER seen a single photo more than three completed 1966 Batmobiles in the same shot. By a wonderful set of circumstances, I *believe*we were able to make history today: http://imageshack.us/a/img401/8683/img8349j.jpg http://imageshack.us/a/img28/6619/img8351g....

Re: The Barris batmobile on Dateline NBC tonight HURRY!

The story was about Ben Novack, the hotel heir, who was murdered. He had an enormous Batman collection--some call it the second largest in the world--including a 1966 Batmobile replica built in Ohio. In tonight's story, they showed a picture of Novack standing next to the #3 Barris replica, with new...
