Re: Batcon 2019

Hi, Jim! It will be great to see you at Batcon 2019! As it turns out, I'm not scheduled to participate at this year's Indiana Comic Con. Perhaps next year.

Re: Screen Test Tunic!

Thanks, Ben! It was a lot of fun. I do four or five tours a week, so no problem on scheduling a time to make it happen. Next time you're stateside, be sure to come to Indiana.

Re: Screen Test Tunic!

Great news! Owner Troy is planning to bring these tunics to Batcon 2019 in Logansport, Indiana, on August 17th and 18th. He is also planning to bring screen-used costumes from the 1949 Robert Lowery and Johnny Duncan Batman movie serials!

Re: Screen Test Tunic!

You missed a great time. There were many great panelists. As it turns out, the screen test cape and cowl are not part of the collection. The owner doesn't know if they survived, or if they were modified and used for the show. The Robin tunic pictured was not used for the Burton Gervis (Ward) or Pete...

Screen Test Tunic!

Take a look at the screen-used screen test tunic worn by both Adam West and Lyle Waggoner! Peter Deyell says that the Robin tunic was one of three camera/color test tunics, but wasn't used for the screen test. Still cool, though! I was there to do a panel on Fiberglass Freaks' 1966 Batmobile replica...

Re: IT...COULD.....WORK!

A handful of us are pretty sure that 20th Century Fox special effects provided the beacon cage, along with the Batphone and the Detect-a-scope, and that is why the items were removed when the show was cancelled (more than likely for souvenir hunters).

Due to personal reasons, Jim Beard will not be able to appear at Batcon 3. He is planning to come back to Batcon 4, though.

John, I hope things ease up between now and August. It will be great to see you again, Tom! Jeff, I hope you can attend, too!

Batcon 2019

Back by popular demand, I offer Batcon 2019. We had over 500 people come to our con last year, and with this year being the 80th anniversary of the Batman character, and the 30th anniversary of the 1989 movie, we thought we'd better give it another go on August 17th and 18th, 2019, at the Logansport...

Re: I think Dozier rolled the dice with Gorshin

This is a fascinating topic. I've wondered the same, but thought about it from a more practical standpoint: maybe the makeup shop wasn't ready for Joker's white face and green hair, or the Penguin's nose? Maybe Cesar and Burgess weren't available for the pilot shooting dates? Maybe the prop departme...

Nice article, Dan! I was the same way about (dare I say it?) Frank Gorshin's Riddler. It took ten years of maturing for me to appreciate Frank's absolutely incredible performances.
